25th Las Vegas Bowl

December 17, 2016. The Las Vegas Bowl will host the Aztecs from San Diego State against the Cougars of Houston. The line now is Houston favored by 3.5. Who do you like and why.

I like 9-3 Houston. They've played tougher opponents. They beat #3 at the time Oklahoma. They beat #5 (at the time) Louisville. Their 3 losses were all on the road to tough teams (Navy, SMU & Memphis). They lost their heavily recruited head coach Tom Herman to Texas at the end of the season and are going with an interim coach....their Defensive Coordinator

San Diego played no ranked teams and lost 2 of their last 3 games. The Mountain West is pretty weak. San Diego does have a top running back though.

I think San Diego will be crushed. What say you?
SD has a lot of players from Vegas. Not sure if its a good thing for them or not. Not a big sports bet type of guy.
The lines gone down to Houston minus 3 just about everywhere in Las Vegas. Maybe Left-Coast money moving onto the Aztecs early.

DonDiego supposes it'll be a competitive game, . . . fun to watch.

Pr'bly a Houston win and cover based on the QB's, . . . but poor old DonDiego doesn't bet College Games for a reason. Maybe wait for the line to drop at least another half-point.
I would have expected Don Diego to show more respect for his namesake, San Diego.

Minor and mid-level bowl games are a craps shoot and nothing more. Much of it comes down to, who wants to be there. From that perspective I would like SAN Diego, on paper it would be Houston. Good luck if you decide on a bet.

I couldn't agree more.
As poor old DonDiego types the Current Odds on the Las Vegas Bowl are:

Houston -5½ at most Las Vegas sports books; Houston -5 at William Hill establishments, . . . down from Houston -3 early on.

Total -51½ or -51 most everywhere, . . . w-a-a-a-y down from 56½-to-54½ when the line opened.

i.e. The Cougars have been bet heavily and the total scoring has fallen pretty steadily. DonDiego doesn't follow college sports much so he doesn't know why. But if one was favoring SanDiego Aztecs and the Over the line is presently about as favorable as it's ever been.
If all bettors flooded the sports books with Houston action, the house did well. San Diego State wins by 24, 34-10.
