I really can't wait to go.

Well, ask her the "double on any 2" question or otherwise it's all a big yawn.

Just a big yawn as you said - here are the rules:

I checked with the pit and on the 3:2 single-deck blackjack, you can double down only on 10 & 11, you can split a hand once and you can not double down after you split a hand. Let me know if you have any other questions.

So much for a good BJ game.

Thanks. It's still a short list for playable single deck games in LV:
1. El Cortez
2. See 1 above.

Who knows, maybe the new owners are serious about re-building the old lady.

I've stayed there about 20x since 1976 and I have always enjoyed my stay.

Kady's coffee shop has always served good food at a fair price. Good breakfast and burgers. Kristophers steak house is always good, the buffet not so much, but they say that has been upgraded, I'll let you know in my t/r when I get back.

I've stayed there twice this year, came home a winner both times. The place definitely has an upbeat vibe over what it was a few years ago. The new ownership has made a very positive difference.

Bob, thanks for that update, it sounds like they are really trying to get the place going again. I've always had a good deal of luck there, 6 of my last 7 trips I've paid for my trip and pocketed a few bucks. Two trips ago I came home up 11k, I hit two $1 vp progressives for 13k and 4 $1600 keno hits.

PS to Billryan: the dealer hits soft 17, not a good game.

When the Monte Carlo first opened, they had all single zero wheels. They did away with most of them. The Stratosphere had a couple of them and Luxor had one the last time I looked.

Unless you are playing for a sector of the wheel to hit, single zero wheels have a mathematical edge over a double zero wheel.

That being said, the dealers I spoke with said that most of their action was being bet on the American or double zero wheels. Of course this is one time where the casinos will be more than happy to accomodate their customers and give them the more disadvantaged wheels.

I went into the Riv in Nov. 2006 and thought it was gross....thats going to be 5 years ago when I get back in Nov. this year.

I think I'll plan on stopping by at some point.

10X Craps is always a good time in my book.
