Lady friend's dad was out for a visit 2 weeks ago, and I put him up at the Silverton hotel and casino for a few nights.
He really liked the rooms, and we ate breakfast there three mornings in a row!
Anyway....this one particular day, we had been running around the casino after 6PM and we couldn't hit a lick. We almost called it a night, when 40 bucks in to a 25 cent 3-play DDB poker machine netted Lady friend four sixes, followed by quad threes with a kicker, and a cash out of $300 bones.
I took 40 from those winnings and played 25 cent 3-play DDB myself, and after getting quad kings, I bumped up to the 50 cent denomination, and landed quad aces with kicker for $1000 bucks!
CASH OUT!!
After this, we went looking for LF's dad, and he was just wandering the casino looking around, and not finding anything. He had played some texas hold'em bonus table game and lost 100 bucks and he didn't feel like playing anymore! He is not much of a gambler.
I told him about our wins, and how excited we were about the nice comeback, and he was happy for us.
I asked him how he was doing, and what he planned on doing next, and he said "I ain't giving these bastards, another dime of my money!"
I was in a giving mood, and I know he likes to play 3-card poker, so I told him I would give him 100 bucks, and we would both go sit at a 3-card poker table and play till we were broke, or one of us hit BIG!
Well....at first it seemed like my idea was a big mistake...we both started losing badly, and pops was down to his last few chips.
I was doing a little better, but still far from making any sort of profit!
So he has two reds and one single left, he was about ready to give them to me, and I talked him into playing it. I said "If you get a good hand, I will give you another red chip to play that" He agreed.
So this old guy, has a weird way of playing this game.....he picks up the three cards, and if he sees Ace or king, on the first card, he won't look at the other cards, he just puts it down and plays it. If he sees a pair, in the first two cards, he stops looking, puts it down and plays it.
On this particular case, he squeezed a pair of twos, didn't look at the third card, and I gave him that third red chip that he needed to play his hand. He turns to me and says "I hope there is another deuce in that hand!"
The dealer shows, his cards, queen, jack, seven (He qualified!) grabs the old mans cards and turns them around....BOOM!! There is the third deuce!! He gets 30-1 plus the dollar bonus pay off,, he's looking at $280 bucks or so....YEEE HAAAAWW!!
Now we are back in business!
Two hands later, the old man squeezes a 6-7-8 of clubs for a straight flush and another super bonus pay out!! 40-1 on that hand....in 3 hands he went from having only 10 bucks left, to having over 600 bucks in chips! WOW!!
He played off the straggler chips, and colored up the 600 bucks, tipping the dealer $25 bucks. He gave me my 100 back, and went back to the hotel a happy man.
Like I said...he isn't much of a gambler, and that win, got him to +300, for the 4 day trip, and I got son and law of the year honors! LOL
