3 things I learned in Vegas on Wednesday

Slapinfunk and I were in town for a quick business trip. 3 things I learned including two facts they dont want the public to know:

1. 25 people a year (on average) hang themselves in Vegas hotel rooms.

2. About 45 people a year are killed when struck by cars crossing Las Vegas Blvd.

3. 7/5 Bonus Poker at Caesars is a very costly game. Slapinfunk counted about 20 times that I had a full house playing $5 7/5 Bonus which means compared to an 8/5 game at Rincon and other casinos I lost about $500 on the weak pay table. On our drive back tonight I told him I won't play 7/5 bonus again at Caesars.

By the way they still had $10 craps tables.
Frankly, I'm surprised Slappy had to inform you of this.

I didn't realize the first 2 facts numbers were so high.
That's around 1 death every 5 days.

I didn't know those 3 facts either.

Thanks for saving me the airfare.

I guess it's too hard to make sure it's exactly 25.

Here are some more important statistics, FYI:

According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, in 2001, over 1,300 murders were committed by a spouse or intimate partners. These numbers equate to nearly four murders a day

More women are injured by their partners than by rape, auto accidents and muggings combined!

The U.S. Department of Justice estimates that intimate partners -- husbands, ex-husbands, and current and former boyfriends -- commit violent crimes against approximately 937,000 women every year.

Over 25% of women have been victims of violence perpetrated by an intimate partner in their lifetime.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, homicide is the leading cause of death for women on the job, and 20% of those murders were at the hands of their partners

It is estimated domestic violence costs employers $3 to $5 billion a year in lost days of work and reduced productivity.

The aggregate annual cost to victims of domestic violence is about $8.8 billion, or $67 billion when pain, suffering, and lost quality of life are included.

Which two of the three do they not want the public to know?
Any connection between 7/5 bonus poker and people hanging themselves in their rooms in Vegas or people walking across Las Vegas Blvd and being killed by a car striking them? Humm......
Where is the source for #1 and #2? Just because you post it doesn't make it a "fact."

Probably a cocktail waitress or bartender. Or, maybe it was a slot tech. Everyone knows they are experts at anything and everything.

Umm, . . . from what exactly do these 25 people hang themselves? Were they midgets? The shower-curtain rod does not work; DonDiego has had occasion to check on this personally.

I'm shocked Don Diego isn't attending the Bilderberg Conference...then again, maybe he's posting from there.
