OK, so you got crazy and bought the $5K burger. For lunch.
You charged it to your room because your host gave you RFB.

Questions:

Do you ask for ketchup? A: It's your burger and I'm sure you're allowed to have it your way.

How much do you tip for that $5,000 + tax check? A: Again, it's your option. I'd go AT LEAST 20%, I mean you don't want to across as a cheap bastard now do ya'?

Do you really expect your host to comp it? A: Unless your first name is Moby, no.

Now I have a question. Do they play the Monopoly™ game at this burger joint? My burger havens do.
With that cut of beef and the preparation I see nothing wrong with the pairing. That said, I have not tasted this particular burger creation so I can not speak specifically to the wine pairing but I have tasted several different vintages of Chateau Petrus. They are very bold Bordeaux's, though 1995 was not the best year for the region, 1996 was much better.

No matter how gourmet the burger is, it seems disrespectful to drink a $2,500 bottle of wine with a burger.

Perhaps a sneaky way to unload some overstock wine?
Make it sound...special?
A high roller can impress his 'niece'....LOL.
Hey!!!! She might really be my niece.

Oh wait, I'm not a high roller.
