Rick and I had been discussing looking into places we wanted to winter in for the past year or so. I have 3 yrs left and it will be here before you know it. We had looked in Laughlin, but thanks to the posters we don't want a place hoter than Haites and windy to boot. Scratch it off the list.
My hubby would love Vegas or Henderson but the temptation I think would be to much for him. Like putting a diabetic in a candy store. Scratch it off the list.
Arizona, my sister lives in Anthem and to put it mildly we have not always gotten along. It seems we are on a mutual ground at the moment. Last year we visited her and fell in love the the Verde Valley, Prescott area. There is an over 55 retirement community just outside Prescott that we liked so what the heck. It is located about an hour from my sister, an hour to Flagstaff and a short 4 hrs to Laughlin, 5 to Vegas.
We had been checking and speaking with the park about their sites and homes available. It would seem that they have some in our price range and I need to get it at this time so I can have it paid for by the time I retire.
Flight goes into Vegas on Wed morning, we will stay there for afternoon and drive to Laughlin for the night. Then onto the park. We are getting a few nights there to check out the park and of course staying the weekend at my sisters. We leave to head back on Wed so we are staying in Laughlin again and then the last 2 nights in Vegas. We can't go home without spending a couple nights in Vegas, we just love it there but not enough to live there.
I hope to report good news on all fronts when we get back. Gambling, housing and overall experience from trip. This is our first time coming out in the middle of summer. Have been to Vegas in May and September and of course our winter trip but this will be different I am sure. I explained to hubby he need not pack sweatshirts, or jeans for this trip. He looked totally perplexed on that statement. lol
