5 years....who wood-a-thunk it? (for 'oldtimers') OT

LVA 'old timers' may remember 5 years ago on April Fool's Day that DonDiego and teechur became "hitched" at the top of the Stratosphere in Las Vegas. Sometimes it doesn't seem as if it has been 5 years.....more like 15! (ba-da-bump [bad-joke drum sound])

For our 5-year anniversary, we took a road trip, ending up at the Biltmore Estate Inn and House (mansion) in Asheville, NC. It was a beautiful time for a road trip since the early spring weather has the grassland green, flowers blooming and trees budding.

I thought this was a lizard, but someone said it was a salamander....?

This is a small section of Biltmore Gardens which were gorgeous with tulips

Wow, 5 years. Congratulations!
Happy Anniversary.

This AZ girl would have called the salamander a lizard.

I wonder who this couple is?
Congratulations!! It seems like it's been longer than 5 years.

I believe that would be a Five Lined Skink

I get them on my deck every summer. Thanks for the trip report. I'd go myself, but I don't have any need to visit a home smaller than my own.
Congratulations. I have been to the Biltmore and it is beautiful.

From photo Roulette Man posted I now know why DD is a big iggles fan. You are married to Dick Vermeil
My first taste of Reisling was at the Biltmore...now I can order something other than white zin...LOL

Did you ever see the TV Christmas special from the Biltmore, Judy Collins...that huge fireplace...probably 10 years ago but it was so good.

That fireplace is like as big as half of our house. Thanks for the photos.

Congrats on your 5 years together!

Uhh, . . . no, no, . . . NO!
It seems like, . . umm, . . . like, . . . like only yesterday! That's what poor old DonDiego thinks.

I remember that day well. Dave had passed away a couple of days earlier, and Noahcat dragged me to Flip's birthday party at the 777. As an extra added attraction, I got to meet DD and Teechur there, in their wedding finery.
