7th annual Weenie Dog Football Challenge

Ruff start to the season boys
Peter King stated it perfectly in his Monday Morning Quarterback column in Sports Illustrated headlined "Everything We Thought We Knew Was Wrong."

We move on to Week 2 and it's time for a bold pick. I am taking the New York Jets plus 8 1/2 points at Green Bay. I think the Packers have slipped tremendously since its Super Bowl winning season. The Jets with the 1-2 running punch of Chris Ivory and Chris Johnson will run the ball effectively and keep this one close, even if they don't prevail. Take the Jets and 8 1/2 points to the bank!

J-E-T-S Jets, Jets, Jets (plus 8 1/2 points) this week!

Good luck everyone with your bets. Even Roscoe.

Oh man...I almost forgot to make my selection for today! My puppy of the week is the Seattle Seahawks -6 over the San Diego Chargers.

The Seahawks looked pretty damn good, in their season opener, and the Chargers looked like their old, self destructive selves in their season opener.

Chargers will get whacked this weekend, by double digits, you heard it here first!

Go make you some money....put your whole paycheck on this one!

Good luck to all who are making these weenie picks!

BJP, right on! you pup

and my Bengals actually won against the Falcons .....and Cleveland? beat the Saints

A good week for Blackjack, and a continual slide for Roscoe.

The Chargers looked like supermen, against the #1 ranked defense in the league! The Seahawks offense could not get anything going!

Meanwhile, blackjack's jet pick ended up exactly like he said it would.

***Standings after Week #2 ***

1st place Blackjack with 1 Win and 1 loss

2nd place Roscoe with 0 Wins and 2 losses

Better luck next week Weenie dogs!

Here is a guaranteed winner. I am taking a favorite this week, Cincinnati at home minus 6 1/2 points against the Tennessee Titans. Andy Dalton has grown up and the Bengals are the real deal.

What do you have Roscoe?

There ya go,
OK, I need to get off my tail, and come up with a sure fire winner this week. I think I found it.

This week I am taking the Carolina Panthers minus 3 points over the lowly Steelers!

The Steelers looked awful from the start of the season, allowing 712 yards of offense in its two games and being outscored 50-9 over its last six quarters. They got beat badly at the Ravens last week, and almost gave that game away to the shitty Browns in week #1.

Panthers got Cam Newton back, and he looked pretty damn good last week. Rizzo has Greg Olsen (TE) in his fantasy league and expects Cam and Greg to hook up, in the end zone several times this weekend!

This should be an easy FIRST win for the brown weenie!

Good luck to all of you, who are making these weenie wagers!

Another good week for Blackjack, and a continual slide for Roscoe.

The Panthers looked like complete crap, and all of a sudden, the Steelers are playing some real football! Sheeeeesh!

Meanwhile, blackjack's Bengals pick whoopped that ass!

***Standings after Week #3 ***

1st place Blackjack with 2 Wins and 1 loss

2nd place Roscoe with 0 Wins and 3 losses

Better luck next week Weenie dogs!

I will be sticking my weenie neck on the line by taking a road team this week. I like Atlanta minus-2 1/2 points at Minnesota. Westgate/the old LVH is the only line at 2 1/2 points so I am getting this pick in before it changes. The Vikings will be without Adrian Peterson and rookie Teddy Bridgewater will make his first start at quarterback. He's going to be really good, but it will be a learning experience.

Go Falcons!

Good luck, everyone.
