8th Annual Weenie Dog Football Challenge

Being that this is the week that both Roscoe and Blackjack were born...I figured it would be appropriate to start this thread, in preparation for the upcoming football season!

Happy Birthday weenie dogs, you both turn 8 years old today!

Ahhhh yesssss...it is that time of the year. Time for football season to start. The opening game is not too far away, and that means its time to bring back the Blackjack vs Roscoe weenie dog football challenge!

Last year was the 7th season for this hot dog challenge and most already know that Blackjack won this contest in a land slide! Blackjack ended up taking the grand prize of a package chockfull of delicious gourmet cookie bones!

Up for grabs again this year, at the end of the season is a container chockfull of gourmet cookie bones, to be provided by the losing dogs owner and shipped to the winning dogs home!! Also up for grabs is the weenie dog cup, pictured here. heh heh

All of you lucky LVA friends, dog lovers, football fans and gambling junkies are in for a treat.

Every week Blackjack and Roscoe will post ONE NFL pick, with the games corresponding spread. We will keep track of win/loss totals as each week progresses. The pooch with the highest win total, at the end of the season, and through the play offs, will be receiving the gourmet cookie bone basket as his grand prize.

Here is where you LVA folks come in to play….since both pups will be trying their hardest to get them paws on that Cookie bone basket, you can bet your ass that they are going to provide nothing but the best, and most sold winning picks every week.

If you live in Vegas, or find yourself on vacation in Vegas, make sure you check on the Weenie Dog picks and see what they have picked that weekend!

You can take any one of their picks, or both of them, and go to the sports book to bet them yourself, so you can clean up some BIG BUCKS too!

This thread will be used exclusively for Roscoe and Blackjack’s picks ONLY.

Feel free to comment on what your opinion is, on either of their picks, and by all means root for the pup that’s in the lead at any given time. They love receiving props for being good little weenies!

Spreads will be taken using the line at the Las Vegas Hilton, and taken from this web site. Vegas ODDS

To allow for all our friends to take advantage of our information, and avoid confusing money line changes, the official weekly challenge picks must be submitted by Blackjack and Roscoe by 4PM PST on that NFL weekends Friday.

Of course if one of their picks happen to be on a Thursday night game, that pick must be in at least an hour before kick off time.

Lets all make some MAJOR DOLLARS, from their picks THIS YEAR!!

Both pooches had solid seasons, and there was money to be made.

Good luck and good betting this year! $$$$

My preseason question for both of the weenies, who wins the Superbowl this year?

I am gonna put some of my puppy bucks on the Indy Colts to win the SuperBowl this year! Hey...you never know?

Bring on the regular season! WOOO HOOOOO

My tail is wagging extra fast after seeing this thread. I'm ready to win some cookie bones again.

I haven't decided on the Super Bowl champion just yet. And if I had, I'm not sure I want to show my hand to my brother Roscoe. He is so dastardly, he might pick my team on a weekly basis, acing me out of my preferred pick.

Good luck Roscoe and everyone else. Let's make some $$$ on the NFL games again this year.

Woof!

Aloha, Glad to see the Weenie Dog Challenge is back for another year. I'm also glad to see your name back on the board even if it's only for the Weenie Dog Challenge. I sincerely hope that you and your family are doing well. I really miss your gambling reports. They were the most fun on here. Good Luck to you and yours and the pooches this year.

Blackjack: Don't count your chickens (or cookie bones) before they hatch! This is the year for the brown weenie! Yeeee hawww!! Time to kick ass!

And here we go!

The 8th annual weenie challenge is under way. For the first time in history an "under" pick is on tap for Week 1. I am taking the under-39 1/2 points in the Cleveland at NY Jets game. Neither offense is worth a rawhide chew toy, with journeymen Josh McCown and Ryan Fitzpatrick at the QB helm. The punters on these teams may seek a contract renegotiation after being called on 10 or more times collectively.

Take it to the bank!

What do have Roscoe?

Solid pick, BlackjackPooch. Two former defensive coordinators as head coaches = defensive battle. They might not score 20 combined let alone 39 1/2.

Yeeee hawww! Its time for my 5 star pooch pick of the week.

This week I am going with the Indianapolis Colts -2.5 over the Buffalo Bills.

Andrew Luck is out to prove that he is the real deal this year, and will make quick work of them Bills.

Bills are having QB identity issues, and they are going to start a rookie, over Matt Cassel Kyle Orton, and EJ Manuel.

They will struggle, and this will be an easy win for the Colts.

Take that one to the bank!

Tough start for the weenie boys on Week #1.

Blackjack's UNDER 39.5 bet on the Jets/Browns game went OVER

Roscoe's Colts pick was a real turd, as the Bills made quick work of them.

****Standings After week #1 ****

1st place (tie) Blackjack Pooch with a record of 0-1

1st place (tie) Roscoe with a record of 0-1

Better luck next week boys!
