Well that bites. And why is it called "Pick A Pair" if you don't get to "pick" cards?

Forget about it.

Just to be clear......in Pick'em or Pick a Pair, you are dealt 2 cards. You then get to pick from two stacks of three additional cards, the first card is shown to you.....you then pick whichever card is better for original 2 cards and then you get the other 2 cards to finish your 5 card hand.....example....

You are dealt 2H, 2C......the first 3 card stack offers three cards one of which is the KD. The other 3 card stack offers three cards, one of which is the 2S.....obviously, you would select the 2S and you'd get the other two cards in the stack to go along with your choice.

Overall Pick'em is not very volatile. But in the short run it can be very volatile. 600 coins for a 4 oak gets you healthy but the royal cycle is very, very long. Recently, I played 100K of Pick'em on BDPWP.....scored ONE straight flush and no royal.

I play it most times I go to Vegas, which is usually 2-3 times a year. The last time I hit a quad was about 10 years ago. I've never gotten a straight flush or royal.

But I usually find that the FH/Flush/Straight come often enough to keep me going.

It's best attribute is probably that you can earn a lot of points in a short period of time, frequently with little or no loss.

When I play,I forget about the ANY straight rule, that's better than 9 or better.
I DO use the card to help me pay attention.
A high pair is way up the chart.
Just below that is the 3 card RF.

It usually takes me an hour or 2 get end up with a QUAD.
I believe that in 2013,I was DEALT a quad and said "shit",really loud.
I hope that does not happen very often!

Most of the hands/card that are dealt to you DO suck.

With the chance of the royal being astronomical,maybe this is where you can play just one "coin" BUT you would get burned on quads,too! I play the max coins in,usually. No,always.
Yeah,I play that game but enjoy VP a LOT more. It has a lot less ZERO pay outs.
