If he was referring to 8/5 A/F then obviously he was wrong. 99.26 is not 99.5.

Maybe he was thinking of DD A/F which would round to 99.5%.
he made no mention of DD A/F. He goofed, I guess. Quoting from the book pages 80-81:

"If the 40-for-1 payoff is on four Kings, Queens or Jacks instead of four 2s, 3,s or 4s, the overall payback percentage rises. This game exists. It's called Aces and Faces, and you'll mainly find it at Binion's Horseshoe in downtown Las Vegas. With an 8-5 pay table on full houses and flushes, the payback rises to 99.5% from the 99.2 on full-pay Bonus Poker. That's because we hold single Jacks, Queens or Kings and will occasionally luck into four of a kind...."
But what's the difference between BP and Aces and Faces? With the Aces and Faces, it just replaces the ssame payout as 2-3-4's in BP. That's the way I remember it.

Very little changes in terms of strategy. However, you give yourself a slightly better chance of hitting quad J,Q,K since you hold one or those cards but should not a single 2,3,4. In addition, you can hit a bonus quad holding something like off suit QJ by drawing either 3 Qs or 3 Js. Doesn't happen very often but enough to raise the payback by a small %.
So in this game, would you say if dealt A K Q rainbow, you are best holding A K or A Q only?

Leaving a chance for 4xA or 4xK/Q
Holding KQ gives you the better chance for a straight, as well as retains the chance for quads.

AKQ gives you a lesser chance of a straight but a chance for getting two pair (doubles your money) and a greater chance of getting a high pair to get your money back.

If you wanted to play "the Rob Singer hold any ace method" you would just hold the ace for the greatest chance of quad aces. See it here.
Money is correct, the additional return of drawing 3 aces (1 in 16215) does not offset the improved chances of hitting a straight.
Bulletin news: arc agreed with me. Yowza!!! Wait till I tell him that by playing 8/5 Bonus and Aces and Faces, plus the bounce back money, plus the free play I am credited with, with the reward credits that I get that I convert into Shell Gas cards... that I might actually have a close to 100% return now playing at Rincon. This might have him amazed.... especially since on the last two outtings Ive actually had small profits on each trip playing Bonus/Aces and Faces.
Money, I deal in facts. If what you state is factual I will always agree with you. Simple.

BTW, you should look around and see if they have 9/6 DD A/F since that returns .2% better and also gives you a chance at some bigger wins. Are you turning into an APer? Well, at least you are starting to think like one.
