franco802's observation is accurate, but only partially so; the old and/or dumpy downtown and/or elsewhere casinos attract near-do-wells, layabouts, malingerers, moochers, wastrels, and ladies-of-easy-virtue as well as old people. This adds what is known as character to these venues, . . . something a young whipper-snapper like franco802 would not understand.
