Airfares sky high

I'm trying to plan our next Vegas trip for this summer and last week a check of airfares showed they were $258 RT. Today, they are now $404. Waiting to see if they come down some in the next couple of weeks. Vegas used to be a cheap airfare destination but not like it was just a few years ago.

Spirit Airlines today has a "fuel fee" of $102.xx for Las Vegas - Florida flights.

The airfare price is still relatively inexpensive. Just figure out a way to avoid the fees. LOL

Booked a Jet Blue flight RT from JFK to Vegas, May 29th thru June 3rd. Just under $300 and I have a $50 a $50 credit.
Nice thing about Jet Blue is if the fare goes down after you book, you can call and get a credit for a future flight.
double post

Been tracking r/t fares from Chicago to Las Vegas for September. Southwest wants almost $430.00. No way I will pay that for three or four nights in Vegas. Yes Vegas
use to be a cheap destination. But, now with the rise in the price of air fares, it is not. I remember when I paid $170.00 for a round trip ticket to Vegas.

Looks like my Vegas trip in May could be my last trip to Vegas. I am just not going to pay the high air fares. No Way, No How!!!

Gas has doubled in price since January 20, 2009-and the arrow is still pointing up.
Guess that's the "change".

It's like playing the stock market. You have to pull the trigger when the fare hits a price you're comfortable with. If you try to get greedy and hit the cheapest fare, you might miss out.
You just have to watch for the great sales I fly almost exclusively Southwest but found a deal on Continental for 59 each way in August to good to pass up.
There are deals just takes some looking and be ready to book when you find them they sell out and change quickly.
Hmm, . . . maybe this has something to do with it:

Poor old DonDiego and his young spouse teechur are s'posed to attend a wedding Out West later this year. DonDiego intends to investigate if any of them freight trains down in the valley are heading West.
