Airfares sky high

American had some great fares a few weeks ago but they are gone now Toronto to Vegas RT was $300.00.

Fares change daily so keep looking.
Fares for me were high .. yep sky high- average $646.00
I nabbed a RT NYC to LAS round trip for $437.00 on JetBlue just yesterday afternoon.
score!

so it is possible to get a deal IF you are vigilant/ ususally Tuesdays and Wednesday, they drop for a short time.
P.S.
30 minutes later I was checking other flight times on the same web site and my return trip I had just booked zoomed up to $330.00 alone!
Fares change frequently - even hourly - at some airlines. Try checking websites during "off hours" (middle of the night) as I've often found my lowest fares between midnight - 3am on the airline sites.
It took me several days of poking around on Delta's site to snag my tickets for next week. I was finally able to get a first class seat both ways on a non-stop between CVG and LAS using the frequent flier miles I had built up. I was wanting something in May, but had to settle for next week. The rising fuel costs have pushed up the mileage requirements for the award tickets, too, make the lower ones harder to find.

I just paid $115RT DTW-LAS. It's on Spirit though. They try to make their money on bag fees and seat assignments. I just pack a small bag that fits their ridiculous size restrictions for a free carry-on. I also wear cargo shorts and pack em full of the small stuff like socks and toiletries. If you check-in online you usually get seated next to the other person on your itinerary.

Spirit is a terrible airline run by the rudest people, but if you don't pay for their add-ons you can really rape them on the price. I probably cost them money with how cheap I get my flights.
777....good for you...flew Spirit once...never, ever again.
I thought Spirit charged for carry-ons?

Booked a Jet Blue flight RT from JFK to Vegas, May 29th thru June 3rd. Just under $300 and I have a $50 credit.
Nice thing about Jet Blue is if the fare goes down after you book, you can call and get a credit for a future flight.

I tried to add a second seat to this trip tonite and it would have been $574. Meanwhile, I'm the only person seated from Row 12 to the back, the flight is wide open and they jacked the price over $275 RT..

Just sent a donation to your walk. k
This here thread got poor old DonDiego thinkin' 'bout that wedding out West in the Fall. The more he cogitated upon hopping a boxcar to traverse the expanse of the good ole' USA from here in Appalachia to Las Vegas, the less appealing it got to lookin'. It's one of them things that sorta strikes one as adventurous and romantic at first, but not so much after a while, . . . like maybe 24 hours in DonDiego's case, . . . and even less in teechur's.

Oh, and that there photograph of Shack the Railroad Cop from Emperor of the North, posted by snidely333, accelerated the rumination process too. (From Emperor of the North, Shack: "There's only one 'bo that's got the stuff to try me, and you ain't even on the list.")

So, DonDiego got online yesterday and found hisself a fairly reasonable fare from his smallish local airport to Las Vegas, nearest Big City Airport to the wedding site, at CheapTickets.com . Further research revealed he could get the identical fare from the airline directly! So he reserved two seats, roundtrip for a bit over $600 yesterday.

( Now, some long-time readers here at LVA might know that DonDiego is thrifty and anal-retentive. And he doesn't think that's a bad thing. Like when he buys a pair of shoes, . . . every time he goes to a store for a year-or-so thereafter he's gotta check the price of them shoes to see if he got took. So he's gotta check that there airfare he got, . . . well, . . . pr'bly 'till he boards the airplane, . . . at least. )

DonDiego just checked the airfare. Hey! At least he waited almost 24 hours!
Anyway the identical flights today are offered at a minimum of a bit over $800. To be more specific $194 more than yesterday.
Whew! What a relief.

Lovely teechur and tolerable DonDiego heading to Vegas in the Fall! Actually, it's beginnin' to look a mite more romantic again.
