Alabama-Auburn

Wow! Only caught the last 10 minutes, but had to have been the most exciting 10 minutes of football I've ever seen. Inexplicable how a coach as good as Saban would only have linemen on the field when his kicker is attempting a 57 yard FG.
I watched the whole game and all I can say is Wow, Wow, Wow.
It sure was exciting. I think he had all those linemen on the field because the previous kick was blocked and he wanted to make sure this one wasn't! Great game.
I'm still in shock!!! I actually was surprised they would try a 57 yard field goal.

I bet Sabin wishes he had not appealed to get one second back on the clock.
War Eagle!!! Now I get to bet on my team next weekend in the SEC Championship game! Woo HOO.

I think it has to do with coaches that are not afraid to try to win games. All too often, the NFL coaches to "not lose" instead of to win. Case in point, the Broncos losing to the Pats and the Broncos punting from the Pats 40 yard line. One play after the punt and the Pats were back to the same spot.

There is a high school team that has done the math. They offside kick every time and they never punt.

I can't fault Saban. Alabama was unlikely to win in over time. Their fieldgoal kicker(s) were not playing well.

Good point. And I agree.Listening to the radio yesterday afternoon,a lot of callers were complaining about Brady Hoke going for the win.Although I was upset they lost,I give Brady credit for having the guts to go for the win.The offense did have momentum at the time.
teechur and DonDiego found themselves downtown in the Indianapolis Colts Grille on Saturday night watching several televised college football contests including the Alabama-Auburn tilt. On this chill Fall evening downtown Indianapolis was quite pleasant with folks walking the well-lit streets and circling the lighted Christmas decorations on the Soldiers Monument in the middle of the City and riding in Christmas-lit horse-drawn carriages.

But back in the bar teechur was enjoying an orangey "Shaken . . . Not Stirred" Martini and DonDiego was guzzling a Bourbon Barrel Aged Stout as the Crimson Tide set up for the game winning field goal.
And when the play did not go as expected, . . . and Auburn won, the Bar exploded with joy and exultations of happiness. And loud music. Apparently many Indianans did not want to see Alabama win.
