American Airlines
Since an extremely vocal customer has publicly identified himself as being removed from an American Airlines flight on Tuesday, Dec. 6, we have elected to provide the actual facts of the matter as well as the FAA regulations which American, and all airlines, must enforce. Cell phones and electronic devices are allowed to be used while the aircraft is at the gate and the door is open for boarding.... When the door is closed for departure and the seat belt light is turned on, all cell phones and electronic devices must be turned off for taxi-out and take-off. This passenger declined to turn off his cell phone when asked to do so at the appropriate time. The passenger ultimately stood up (with the seat belt light still on for departure) and took his phone into the plane’s lavatory. He slammed the lavatory door so hard, the cockpit crew heard it and became alarmed, even with the cockpit door closed and locked. They immediately contacted the cabin crew to check on the situation. The passenger was extremely rude to the crew, calling them inappropriate names and using offensive language. Given the facts above, the passenger was removed from the flight and denied boarding.
You know you can buy them books but that doesn't mean they will read them. People like this just upset the shit out of me. Rules apply to all and not just the selct few and those who don't like the rules get off the bus. No big deal however I would have much rather seen him thrown literally off of the plane. No place for this individual to be rude or use offensive talk towards the crew. Clap of hands go out to American Airlines. Now next I would like to see the carry-on baggage models used (if it does not fit check it.) It would speed up loading times.

i think this would actually slow down loading times. the time it takes to see if it fits, the time it takes to check the bags at the gates when they dont, the time it takes to have an argument that "no, it doesnt fit, you cant bring it"

however, i still support seeing these used.

They could very easily retrofit the TSA machines so that only bags of a certain soze passed thru. If the bag doesn't pass thru, you don't enter the secure area and have to go back and check the bag. This would slow down the security checks for a time, but I really believe the worst offenders are frequent fliers and once they learned their bag won't fit, it would eliminate most of the delays.
As for Alec Baldwin- it sounds like he got what he deserved.

alec baldwin showed the whole world just how much of a spoiled crybaby he really is.
On the early show this monring they said he was addicted to Words with Friends and couldn't stop playing it. I would be willing to bet the phrase "do you know who I am" was used at least once
What is the point of the rule? I'm sure by now thousands of phones and iPads and whatnot have flown turned on without any problems.
It really irks me when I see people not powering down after they have been told.

At times I'm almost tempted to say something...... Like it's a safety thing ya know.

The same goes for seat belts ....
with people walking up the aisle to the restroom when the "Fasten Seatbelt" sign is on. Like WTF ???

..... and also even reclining their seats when taking off.

Once I saw a near "air-rage" incident when a guy was loud, obnoxious and very PO'd,
...... Why ? because the person in front of him reclined his seat ........ when it was okay to do so.
It got so bad that the stewardess politely asked the man who reclined his seat
if he wouldn't mind keeping his seat upright for the duration of the flight just to avoid any further problems,
and he complied to her request.

I wish the seats didn't recline. I see people all the time now powering down. I know they just put it on silent, keep it on and put it in their pocket. Seems to be a silly rule.

I wish they would put a lever on the back of the seat so you could lock it to keep it from coming back on you. Make it the choice of the one who the seat comes back on, not the one who gets close to a zero reclined position. I think some do it just to annoy the one behind them.
