. . . are about to have their photograph taken.
At approximately 5:30PM EDT TODAY the Cassini Spacecraft orbiting Saturn will point its camera at the planet Earth and take a picture. Luckily the residents of the United States will be facing the camera during this interval.

Simulated view of the Earth from Saturn during the photo opportunity - magnified significantly
The Cassini Project team encourages everyone to take a moment and Wave At Saturn. In the eastern USA wave to the southeast; farther west wave a bit in a more easterly direction.
n.b. The photo is planned to encompass Saturn and much of the inner Solar System, . . . and the Earth will occupy less than 2 pixels, so one might have difficulty finding oneself in the photo. Nonetheless, it is interesting to contemplate that the photo will encompass every Earthling who has ever lived, . . . ever.

Oh, . . . and after the photo-session as it gets dark, looking to the east/southeast in the early evening sky tonight provides an excellent opportunity to see Saturn, . . . located roughly midway between the rising Moon and the brightest "star" in the sky, Venus.
