im curious if he deleted it, or if a moderator deleted it. its interesting to note that this guy is the first to constantly quote and promote everything huntington press related, but was also in direct violation of their "no politics" rule.

Thanks for the info Sue. Perhaps you could get the 'New' Aliante to put a $25 matchplay into the MRB....or maybe do one of those Rebate deals for new sign ups. That would be cool.

That would be great but LVA doesn't believe in matchplays anymore.......Maybe they should.....one can trace back the big loss of popularity of the site to the discontinuation of the matchplays they were once noted for.

Assuming that the LVA doesn't believe in matchplays anymore is, in my opinion, untrue. Getting the casinos to commit and want to honor matchplays seems to be the real issue. Look around, for other than a handful from the ACG, it seems that gambling coupons are not being offered by any of the casinos. Very few coupon books are available and the few that are there have really nothing of value to offer. The lack of matchplay coupons can be credited to the bean counters who now run and have ruined the Vegas we used to know.

(Relax, I just took the sig down, no prompting, just felt it had served its tiny purpose, looked kinda ugly, and was needlessly causing the sort of hyperventilating that often leads to thread deletion)

Chilcoot- so, just trolling along, eh?
I see you also play @ Video Poker.com also.

Not sure who you're talking to, but I do not.
I'm shocked that Aliante Station casino customers will not be able to use points in the very same place where they earned them after Nov 1. I can't imagine having to deal with all the very understandable complaints that will arise. As one person here pointed out, as opposed to other Stations properties that are more centrally located, this one is more of a "neighborhood casino". So, Mr and Ms X, playing and earning say $500 in comps in their account, mainly at Aliante, are suddenly going to be told they have no comps available there, and if they want to use those comps, they must go elsewhere to use them? Amazing!

Other casinos have had the sense to handle this differently. One example was the LV Hilton, which allowed points to be carried over from the prior combined Park Place slot club, even after they separated. There was one other case of this also, which I cannot recall the casino, which handled the separation in a way that brought over prior points earned at that location.

What makes this even more amazing, is that technically, there wasn't even an ownership change here, just a operational management change, yet the points earned here before Nov 1 can't be used here!

Lastly, understand that this kind of thing is negotiable. The data is there. If the Aliante owners really wanted to, they could have negotiated as part of the deal to have the Aliante earned points deducted from the Stations accounts Nov 1, and fed to the Aliante team to load onto the new Aliante accounts. (The transfer could even been optional, if management decided that was a better approach, and left up to the customer). There would be an I/S cost to identify and split out these points involved that Aliante would have to fund, but obviously the Aliante ownership felt it was better to leave their customers without their comps, rather to spend some money to make their customers happy in the conversion. That speaks volumes!!!
Those players who do not want to go to one of the 17 other casinos under the Station brand have an option -- use their points at Aliante now, or cash them out. Many are doing this. They are not angry, just practical. As far as comps go, hosts will be able to give discretionary comps to good players.

I don't pretend to understand business decisions and negotiations, but this is how the deal was made. The points earned at Aliante in the past "belong" to Stations. At least they are not being taken away, as has happened at other casinos in the past. I remember years ago Arizona Charlies changed their whole slot club, and players had a deadline by which they had to cash out or use their points, or else they'd LOSE them. I lived in Chicago at the time and could not get here in time, so I lost my "old" points. This is not happening here. Nobody is losing their points.
Sue, I appreciate the detail and updates. Thank you!
