IMHO, the main motivator behind Aliante (spelled with an "a" not an "e") going private is so it can stay in business. I could be wrong, however, the other alternative would have been to close Aliante and/or other properties.

Everyone I know who gambles either does so for personal enjoyment or the hopes of personal financial gain.

A business needs to make a profit to stay in business. Jasper, I'm sorry to hear you are going through hard times. It kind of sounds like you work in the public sector, perhaps at a government agency. From my experience, governmental agencies operate differently from the private sector.

From what I've read online here and at other sites, it sounds like Aliante is trying to focus on its customer base and re-open with a strong focus on its consumers. If the end result is the new ownership makes money, they've done their job.
Sue Casey, I have been meaning to ask if you are related to Casey Kasem or if the shared name is just a coincidence but I keep forgetting.

The man's last name is Kasem, not Casey.
But his first name is Casey. Thanks for the laugh, Ellen. I hope you'll stop by Aliante again on your next trip to Vegas.

Chilcoot has again shown his lack of a sense of humor.
Actually, his real name is Kemal Amin. And this one goes out to a little dog named Snuggles.

The bigger question is did either of you strike out? Or is there joy?
Looks like you'll be busier than normal for a while Sue. I hope the changes work well for you!

I found out where the Aliante Station table game felts landed if anyone is interested in an unusual souvenir...

Spinetti's Gaming Supplies - Downtown Las Vegas
We had a lovely time staying at the hotel a couple years ago. The rooms we very nice and roomy plus we had a great view. My parents liked the homey feel of the casino and the workers were friendly. I would love to stay there again. Good luck sue with the new venture...
