All Kansas Public Schools Set To Close After June 30th

Another conservative governance success story?

Quote

The Kansas Supreme Court ruled on Thursday that the state's funding system for public education is unconstitutional and said it must be replaced by June 30 if schools are to remain open. The court found in an 80-page ruling that the system approved by lawmakers in the Republican-controlled state legislature last year was inequitable, saying it had come up $54 million short in funding for schools in poor districts.

Lacking a constitutional school finance system, schools in Kansas will not be able to operate after June 30, the court stated.

Why should taxpayers be forced to pay for other people's children's education? No one helped pay for my son's braces, why should I pay for their education?
If they want to go to school, let them work and save up the money. Who really needs twelve years of schooling anyway. Let them work and study in their spare time.

The state’s Constitution requires that the state finance a suitable education for everybody.
The exact wording is:

Quote

The legislature shall provide for intellectual, educational, vocational and scientific improvement by establishing and maintaining public schools, educational institutions and related activities which may be organized and changed in such manner as may be provided by law.

C'mon malibber2. Do you think billryan is being facetious? I do.

The same thing happened in New York, another conservative hotbed
Google will eventually educate the little brats using artificially intelligent software based instructors. They'll get a K - College education in 6 years....at home...using a smart phone for 1/1000 the cost of K-12 public education. There may be some issues when the machines decide to change the curriculum though.

As long as the children continue to serve the machines everything will be just fine. Those who resist will be eaten.

We don't need no education
We dont need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teachers leave them kids alone
Hey! Teachers! Leave them kids alone!
All in all it's just another brick in the wall.
All in all you're just another brick in the wall.
Dont worry. Revenues from all those millionaire tax cuts will be kicking in any day now. Any day now.....

I do, but when nobody else responded to the thread, I decided to provide an answer to the rhetorical question.
