Allegiant Air

Will be taking a trip to Vegas on Allegiant Air this October. We have never flown with them, but the introductory round-trip fare from Hawaii to Las Vegas was very inexpensive at the time. If any of you have ever flown with them, I would love to hear from you. It's a 5 1/2 hour flight so I hope it's not the trip from you know where. Thanks for any feedback.
They are fine to fly with...done it several times from south bend to Vegas ....they just nickel and dime you to death, charging for every little thing!!!
Allegiant is the best airline to take if you have one in your area. Usually flies from better airports, too. Nice inside cabins. Dates for bookings can be tricky.
I have flown Allegiant several times in the past with no major complaints. I now live on Oahu and fly Hawaiian. Hawaiian is much better than Allegiant. You will be disappointed if you expect the same quality. That being said I would not hesitate to fly Allegiant from HNL if the rates were a lot better. Enjoy your trip!

Isn't this the airline that charges not only luggage fees but carry-on luggage fees? If so, I've heard that some people will wear multiple outfits (in other words shirts and pants each inside of one another but yet dressed on the person).

Yes, Allegiant is one of several airlines that does that. Apparently $30-$35 if it's no more than $25, then another $35 if the carry-on is over-size or -weight.

Also note that checked bags over 40 pounds cost more, the industry standard is 50 pounds.

Allegiant subsidizes its low fares with ruinous bag fees. Caveat emptor
That's right! I always pack light for Allegiant, but then that's the way I travel now. No more lugging heavy suitcases. Allegiant is great fun. On my last flight to Vegas, one of the cabin crew was like a stand-up comedian. The seats are comfortable, too. Their fares are about half of Air Canada's.

We like Allegiant although are flying from Moline, Illinois to Las Vegas- not Hawaii.
The schedule is one that leaves on a Thursday and comes back on Sunday- just about perfect and runs us between $250 to $300 a person depending upon how many add ons we add on.
It has made us carry on only travelers which is actually working out well.
