also Absinthe advice??

Sorry, I am also looking for advice and the best deal on Absinthe. This sounds really interesting to me. Would this be 70 yr old MIL appropriate or too "weird" for that? I actually ended up renting Moulin Rouge years ago with her, not knowing is was not the standard musical, this is what I have in my mind about Absinthe. I am bummed to find out this is only running through Sept...are the outdoor tents air conditioned?

What is the best price people have found? Locals prices are good

thanks
If you are referring to the booze, the best stuff can only be found in France and is NOT for sale (the stuff was made before the ban). There only a few folks that make it now a days and no one has the original recipie for it. Bourdain had a good spot on it when he was in France a few years ago. It is still illegal for it to be imported into the US, so finding it stateside won't be possible.

Absinthe is legal in the USA now. Been legal for a few years. It's nasty. Tastes like sambuca or grappa or other crappy stuff.

Never seen the show at Caesars but I will soon. Absinthe
No chef - it's a show at Caesars in outdoor tents. I talked to a couple people at our hotel in Vegas this week who had just seen it and they said they "weren't sure" if they enjoyed it! Apparently it was a bit weird & they were not overly impressed - but they admitted they really didn't know what to expect when they bought the tickets. For what it's worth, they did mention that the people who seemed to be enjoying it the most were the 20-somethings while the "seniors" in the crowd did not seem to be staying to the end. The people I spoke to had a pretty hard time trying to describe it to me, but from what I got out of them, I decided to pass on the opportunity to see it. Maybe someone on the boards here has some first hand experience that could fill in what this show is supposed to be about?

I will let you know after Tuesday
This is a link about the booze: linky

Any other types of absinthe I am not aware of. Thanks for the info about the show. Do they have green fairys in it??

Snidely, I stand corrected about the sale of it in the US. However, its not the same stuff as the orginal.
LMAO, at the booze comments, lol, I was referring to the show....AND thanks for the comments, it does confirm my thoughts...yes, I would love it...no, not appropriate for the MIL. Probably taking her to see Viva Elvis.

Please respond after Tuesday. I would love to see this later in the summer, but that is why I want to know about the air conditioning. I loved Moulin Rouge, but my MIL thought is was "weird". I always seem to bring home the weird movies to watch with her and she thinks I am crazy. Figured out to never rent a Nicole Kidman movie basically, lol. But for me, the more artsy, independent the movie the better. Hate blockbusters.
buckeye, where you from....do you live here now? I am from central Ohio, but live in Vegas now.

We alcoholics look for the booze meanings first.
