Alternative to meetup in vegas?

I have googled alternatives to meetup, but not had any luck. Meetup decided to send out an extremely politically divisive email to the entire membership stating that they were making over a thousand resist meet ups to form marches in each city. I would like to discontinue my affiliation with them, but this is basically how all social groups in vegas are formed. I would love to find other venues that perform this service.

The couple of things I found said Facebook, but I've not found many searches for social groups. They have the calendar with things happening, but that isn't what meet up is. Meet up has book clubs, tennis clubs, etc. for locals in each city.

I've googled this several times and it has handful of stuff I've never heard of and then their sites were not navigatable to me anyway.

This doesn't bother me in the least.

Meetup has always had lots of gatherings for Tea Party other political affiliations. I just ignore them and look for things that interest me like wine, books, craft beer, hiking.

As for churches, I've never went to any in vegas. I've only ever went to the church I was born into at home and not really comfortable with just picking a random one.

Meetup has always had member sponsored groups that are paid for by the members. I have no problem with that. I was extremely offended and concerned by the email and do not want to participate in a company sponsoring descent from our government. And to be honest, meetup members seem to be present, but not engaged. I did finally find a really fun group recently and don't get me wrong, have met a few friends to do activities with, but the last actual real friend I met there was 6 years ago. Great time filler, but not an avenue to make relationships and in vegas people come and go. We do not have an office or family here. Everyone we meet is through community activities.

HEY! I'm no commie but nonetheless, I'm offended I wasn't included in this invite. In fact I am HIGHLY OFFENDED that I wasn't included. Why wasn't I included? Was it the "tone" I present, was it the "whiteness" of my rhetoric? or the "black"attitude I sometimes take?
