The AMA Reported Obamacare is a Success

Pj - the answer to my post lies in the article you posted. The article says the bills are being paid by SUBSIDIZED obamacare plans. These plans are subsidized by the govt or taxpayer dollars. The article also mentions Medicaid, which is 100% paid for by the govt or taxpayer dollars. DD has already pointed out that almost all of the exchanges are losing the money & need Federal loans to stay in business or once again taxpayer dollars.

So the govt is paying for the bills at the hospitals.

For the record DonDiego's more recent posts addressed the non-profit Co-Ops, all but one of which is losing money.

The conclusions of the HHS Inspector General were:
__ENROLLMENT IN CONSUMER OPERATED AND ORIENTED PLANS WAS GENERALLY LOWER THAN THEIR INITIAL PROJECTIONS
__NET LOSSES FOR MOST CONSUMER OPERATED AND ORIENTED PLANS WERE HIGHER THAN THEIR INITIAL PROJECTIONS

The appendices in the above report give the overall enrollment and profit/loss figures, but do not detail, f'rinstance, the salaries of the Co-Op officers and staff; it might be interesting to see how much of the taxpayer funded loans went toward such overhead expenditures.

Um....yes...that's exactly the way the law was designed. It creates a fiscally responsible way to manage healthcare access for low income people - hence the reduction in the deficit...and fewer uninsured visits to the emergency room which get paid for by whom?

I wont wait for an answer. I've put that question to our resident FOX crowd a million times in the past - to which I always receive a chorus of crickets chirping.

If you have a fundamental problem with lower income people being granted access to healthcare I'm happy to disagree. And so did the last presidential candidate you voted for.
In January the CBO said projected long term costs of $1.9t, with tax revenues of $600b, giving it a deficit of $1.3t. That does not factor in the increased costs of medicaid which is paid for with 100% tax money.

And insurance premiums were supposed to down $2,500

"Funny, Obamacare is popular with every age group except the one that can never get it - our Medicare eligible seniors. You know, the Worst Generation. "

It's also unpopular with every age group...
Despite its recent victory in the U.S. Supreme Court, the president’s health care law is still disliked by most voters who expect it to worsen the quality of care and make it more expensive.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 42% of Likely U.S. Voters share a favorable opinion of the law, with 20% who view it Very Favorably. Fifty-three percent (53%) view Obamacare unfavorably, including 37% with a Very Unfavorable opinion. These findings are consistent with surveying for several years. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

The survey of 1,000 Likely U.S. Voters was conducted on July 22-23, 2015 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.

Bob
You mean Rasmussen as in Scott Rasmussen, Fox News contributor? The Rasmussen that once missed a US Senate race by 40 points? The Rasmussen poll that was second to last in accuracy in the last presidential elections, out of 26 polling outfits?

Yeah, that's what I thought you meant.
The RCP average is 41.4% approval, which is pretty much where it has been since the law was passed.

Some people just can't seem to accept that there is a sizeable group of people who were , in fact , NEGATIVELY impacted by Obamacare . Bob
So True & Well Put!

Thanks!

I totally agree with you. Everything the government does negatively impacts a sizable group of people. Just ask anyone who ever had a family member go off to war.

We can go back to any election and whoever gets elected will negatively impact a sizable group of people.

As with all things in life, there will be winners and losers.

Having said all of that the thing that gripes me about republicans is they seem to always have heartburn with everything but they never offer any solution. My God just look at the GOP field for president, it is ridiculous.

Come debate time they will be tearing each other to shreds the when somebody wins the primary he will be the greatest thing since sliced bread.

It has gotten so bad for the GOP Trump is leading in the polls. Reagan must be rolling over in his grave.
