Another computer query

Sorry, this ones a little different(got my other issue done, no prblems mon ).

My wifes new computer. She starts her new job today and and after busting ass getting her office up and going she was having trouble getting on the wireless. She called comcast and they told her to go to best buy and get a booster, I was out,she called so I got a booster.
PROBLEM(beside wife freaking out on me): She was on.and then off..then on, get the picture. Now it's telling her she can't get on because the booster isn't secure or something. Sticky point seems to be the booster.HELP!?

I know, I'm so clueless
Sticky point is probably your wireless security. You need to access the booster via a web browser and enter your LAN's password into the booster. Wireless security is something WEP, WPA, WPA2, etc. Make sure the booster is near your laptop and the router for the initial setup.

OK, probably none of my business, but a good sex counselor can help with that sort of thing.

Snidely might be right. But Jatki is it possible that your wife is hitting a lot of porn sites, creating malware problems for her??

She is probably on a popular channel. Choose a different channel in your wireless router. Then test your internet speed.
You need a booster? Really? "N" routers are quite good.
My Comcast guy was worthless about wireless routers and such.
You may choose to change the location of the(wireless) router.
NO steel appliances next to the router.

I think Ellen nailed it Jatki.
The N routers work great as long as your not in a steel building. I would remove the booster and try with just the router/modem. Make sure you have the network on before booting the pc (win 8 has issues). Do the needful on the security side and it should come up ok. Then if you need to run a booster you can do so.

Start simple, then go complex.
You guys always keep me smilin' and yea, we got it figured, thx
