another detroit area resturant coming..

Another restuarant a steak house from Detroit area coming to the D in downtown....Personally I go to Vegas to get away from the d metro area and its following down to vegas, Flava Fav is not busy down the street here in MI, I wonder how long that will last/stay open. Binions Steak house still has our vote, at least from the last visit last year.
You can take people out of Detroit,

but you can't take the detroit out of people.

Not once has a friend returned from Detroit raving about the great food he found there. What's next, A Taste of Tulsa?

I'm happy for the people of Vegas who miss the foods they grew up with in Motown. But seriously, there can't be too many of them, and I think Motor City in Henderson probably has them all covered.
Glad to hear you had a good experience at Binions SH. It was always one of my favorite steak houses in Vegas, but I never had a desire to go back there once it was out of Binions control....and I don't mean Becky. I mean the steaks were gotten from Binions ranch in Montana, aged and delivered to Binions for consumption. Never had a more tender steak or Prime Rib in my life except maybe at Jocko's SH in Napomo, Ca.

Well, we have a few things in Detroit that are unique and worth being proud of.

If people can't find good food here, they're not looking too hard. Slows BBQ, American Coney, Sinbads, The Whitney, and Buddy's Pizza are all wonderful for different reasons.

Andiamo's is a class joint - I think they'll do very well in Vegas.
I'll take Green Lantern pizza over Buddys. A new one opened up 5 minutes from me, packed every nite. Haven't been there yet. Been sticking with Madison Hgts place until we find out the food is as good. Used to hang out at Buddys in the 70's in Hamtramck but that was years ago and you got served there before you were of age to drink. I just won't support Andiamos because of Freeom Hill Ampetheather. It's located on a landfill, I live right behind the place and the noise level those years it was open was beyond a nightmare. It's reopening up this June with Harleyfest and a few music concerts. Maybe it will be toned down some.
Just another example of Chilcoot posting about something he knows nothing about
Detroit is not regarded as a great food town. Sorry, it's not.

New York, Rome, San Francisco, Paris, Los Angeles, Madrid, New Orleans, Tokyo, Chicago, London, buenos Aires. No question about any of them.

I'd put Buffalo (wings, beef on weck) ahead of Detroit, and Buffalo definitely doesn't deserve to be on any lists either.
DonDiego has never been to Detroit.

Nonetheless, all of a sudden he has a craving to visit Michael Symon's Roast on Washington Boulevard.

He has a hankering for Bacon Lardon Salad, and Some Lemon Chicken with tzatziki and beets, . . . accompanied by a Stone Levitation American Amber Beer or, . . . perhaps, . . . no beer but a Tokaji Aszu of 5 Puttonyos from Hungary with desert.

DonDiego wonders what brought this on.
Stay the hell away from Detroit DD.It's a toilet, not to mention unsafe as hell.
