Another gaff by Bud Selig

Can't post on my previous Bud Selig thread because of the six month rule. But what's the deal on Dirk Nowitski (sp?) not being able to throw out the first pitch in Game 3 of the World Series? On account of MLB not wanting to offend the NBA during the lockout? Does Selig have any sense of what's important and what isn't? Such an event would be great for both sports IMO. But what do I know. I'm not Bud Selig.
It's not a first pitch unless it counts as a ball or strike on the first batter. Otherwise it is just part of practice and warm up.
Bud Selig's first big mistake as Commissioner was instituting the designated hitter rule -- and just so he could get an aging Hank Aaron into his Milwaukee Brewers lineup. Sigh.
Eep! Just noticed that MLB reversed that ruling and will allow Nowitzki to throw out the first pitch. Story here.

And the correct spelling appears to be Nowitzki.

How about Tony Romo doing Game 4. He could be the first guy to get picked off or sacked in the World Series
