Another round of resort fee increases
Paid $29/nt resort fee at Vadara last week when we were in Las Vegas.
That loud sound you just heard coming all the way from Houston was drmilled's head exploding....
I'll repeat myself. This is how free markets sometimes work.

The State of Nevada should pass a law outlawing this sort of deceptive trade practice because it hurts the hotel industry. And now that pretty much every hotel does it, none of them are getting an advantage from it.

They should do with hotel prices just like the USDOT did in requiring airlines to combine all mandatory charges into a bottom-line airline ticket price.

All resort fees do now is make people mad.

They dont bother me individually because I know to look for them (like everyone on this board).

The people these fees really kill are the first-time travellers to Vegas who might not know what they are getting into....and maybe dont realize that there aren't many ammenities included with their "resort fee" at the Plaza.

I would encourage private citizens to file complaints at the Nevada Attorney General’s office here:
https://ag.nv.gov/Complaints/File_Complaint/ Link

And they also have a link to the FTC complaint form there. All it would probably take is a couple of hundred complaints being filed with these agencies and the practice would come to a halt.

Most of those price search engines don’t mention the resort fees. At best it is a footnote in small print. When you book a room on one of those services and it says $89 a night you don’t expect an additional $25 a night tacked on when you check in. Looking at it that way it moves beyond the realm of mere deceptive practices and gets real close to being fraudulent.
God I miss the Vegas I used to go to in the 1980's
please.... just show the total price up-front and do away with the resort fee nonsense BS.
Well car rentals---food---and resort fees (everything goes up) what else who knows. Whatever the traffic will bear should be Las Vegas's motto. There will come a breaking point and I'm sure it not too far off. Way to many places (none however compare to LV) but they are starting to look a lot better everyday. LV use to be a real deal but in todays times it has become less attractive....
