We're boomers. 1st trip was in 1982, last trip 2005. On the flight home, hubby & I agreed...for us, LV has lost it's attraction. Strip, downtown, local casinos...the thrill is gone.

Just my two bits, but I really, really DIG a nice room. In fact, that's THE attraction of Vegas for me. I want to get away from my economical dwelling, and have a nice room for a week. All the talk about the house edge is BS to me, because at the stakes I play, it's just not that meaningful.

Anyone who really, really believes 6-5 BJ is the downfall of Vegas is just not in touch with reality, in my opinion.

I totally agree. When I am on vacation, I want to stay in a place that is at least as nice as my own home. The whole "i can stay in a dump to save money because I only use my room to sleep and shower" philosophy is so lost on me. I want to sleep in nice comfy sheets, dry off with fluffy towels, and not have to worry about panhandlers accosting me on my way to sleep and shower

I can't argue with that. If there are panhandlers hanging out by the shower ... I'm asking for an upgrade.

a GED is all you need to become a TSA agent! I feel so safe knowing the TSA has my back, what say you

Also gaming odds are affecting Vegas... The bread and butter is GAMING-Bad gaming= less bread and butter.

Like I said in my first post, why go to Vegas when my local joint offers better odds? I love Vegas 350+ plus

times in 7 years- Vegas quit loving me and plenty like me over the years. May she reap what sowed..

Bean Counters always said " How can we lose money, when a bottle of Vodka only cost 75. yet we sell it for

750" Oops never thought 19.6% percent of Ameicans would be out of a job and another 13% would be on 99

weeks of UE checks.. I guess thats how you could lose!

It is not your essential liberty to take weapons and explosives onto an airplane, you ********ing ******.

It is your essential liberty to be a ******ing ****** and complain and post hate speech against people who attempt to protect you. No one, absolutely no one, would EVER be able to separate YOU from THAT essential liberty.

Marcus what hate speech have I written? Pointing out the facts of the TSA isnt hate speech!

The feds know who exactly you are as soon as you book your plane ticket... Why do the airport Nazi's still have

to grope old ladies, disabled persons in wheelchairs. We do this because we are at WAR.. Or could it be that they

are a bunch of high school educated morons? How serious are we about security when we leave it up to these

What would attract "Boomers"?

First, only a small percent of people go to vegas with any concept of Gambling Odds...So better odds would only attract a very small portion of people...Most likely the demographic they least want to attract...frugal gamblers.

If they specifically want to target 'Boomers' they could do even more entertainment focused on performers from the 60's and 70's.

Instead of just targeting Boomers, my short run answer to the doldrums in Vegas is to pick a month and have a massive Remember Vegas Sale. They do whatever it takes from a price point to try to fill the entire inventory...for a month. This may mean free rooms at Vegas Club or $30 rooms at MGM or $70 at Cosmopolitan. Whatever it takes to fill the rooms...ALL the rooms. Work with the airlines for reduced rates and work with the rental car companies so they don't jack up the prices....

If they could fill up Vegas for a month (regardless of what they make on the rooms), it could just be the pump-priming they need to get the local economy going again. Anyway, it would beat the hell out of closing down more hotels.
