Any hotel deals in Laughlin?

We are going to Las Vegas in January but usually spend two or three nights in Laughlin.

It USED to be so much fun and very nice at the River Palms. Noticed last year that the whole downstairs is EMPTY and their buffet only open on weekends. We think it is not going to be there very long.

We always have had mailings or emails giving us free rooms but so far we haven't received anything. Even calls to the place and talking with host doesn't help. One would think they would continue with this knowing that at least money would be put IN the machines.

Anyone know of a code to get us the comp'd rooms here or elsewhere in Laughlin?

Like the rest of the nation, Laughlin has been hard hit by the recession and the growth of the Indian casinos. As a long time frequent visitor to Laughlin, I too have noticed that offers and comps have tightened up the last few years. Often the best than be can be done is a reduced or 2 for 1 room rate offer. For example, I received a flyer from the Edgewater/Colorado Belle offering $9 rooms during the week for most of December. Nothing yet from any hotel about January. If having a players card and being signed up for email offers at all the clubs, plus making phone calls has not produced results, not much more can be done. One consolation is that even if forced to pay rack rates for a room, the charges may be as little as one third what one would pay for a room on the LV Strip.
