Any Let It Ride Players Here

I have always played Blackjack. My Brother in law won 14K on one hand playing LIR. Now I am interested. I have a couple of questions after playing for fun online.

It seems to be extremely volatile and requires more capital than BJ. Having said that are there any five dollar tables on the strip. If not how plentiful are the ten dollar tables on the strip? We are staying at The Signature so some place at that end would be helpful.

How much money would be a realistic buy in on a ten dollar table? It seems like two hundred dollars isn't nearly enough on a ten dollar table.

I must say the game is a lot of fun and much more exciting than Blackjack IMHO.
it is fun when you win. I think most strip casinos offer this at a $10 minimum. I haven't played it in a long time, like a couple of years at least, but do recall that the house edge is higher than blackjack, especially the side bet for the extra $1 (they still do that, don't they). As far as buyin, if you only want to risk $200 in a session, buy in for $200. Most hands, you are pulling back 2 of the three bets anyway and if you don't get lucky and win something for 20 hands, you are pretty much throwing good money after bad anyway
Thanks, that is a good way to look at it. If I fall 20 hands behind I need to walk.

Thanks again Karen
It's usually my favorite game and have won a decent amount on it. It's absolutely fantastic when you hit some good hands as the payouts are pretty good. If it's continual losing,it's like a slow bleed, but, this can be good if you want to slow play. It's wayyyy slower than continual quick losing at BJ as you pull bets back. I've had my best times ever playing LIR with some fantastic people and the table winning, everyone cheering each other on,drinks flowing..but thats any table game, just mine have been LIR. I digress.
RE; the side bets. Theres the 1 dollar bet(which odds are posted at the table,i usually play it,me =sucker, but have won big on it) and the 3 card side bet. On this one you can bet anything you want on it and its just like it sounds, the 3 cards dealt to you will pay just like at a 3 card table. I play sometimes, but it seems like a huge money sucker.
Hope this helps,be happy to answer anything else.

Cosmopolitan has $10 tables and they are very friendly. It is a volatile game; I once lost 19 straight hands. I would think you should have $200 for each session and personally, I don't play the bonus bets.
I'm a big fan of Let it Ride. I usually don't admit it to serious gamblers because they won't let anyone have fun in the casino unless you're playing super low advantage games like Craps, BJ, or Video Poker.
I've found numerous $5 tables on the strip. I've played recently at Tropicana, Excalibur, Luxor, Treasure Island, and Flamingo all for $5. You won't have much trouble finding a game. And yes, the $1 bonus bet is for suckers, but I'd kill myself if I hit a royal and didn't have it up there.
Hey there,

Luxor defo had 10 dollar let it ride on my last visit in May and I'm certain we were playing it when we stayed at Bellagio in August at 10 dollars but we only stayed 4 nights midweek not the weekend.

I love Let it Ride - not the best game odds wise but i've had some nice wins over the years. Hit a flush at the Luxor in May with a 100 dollar a box on - which was the best win of the trip.

hope this helps.

Harrah's and Imperial Palace also have $5 tables. Most places go up by $5 at night, but this past summer on a weekend night IP was $5. Some casinos don't have LIR tables open early in the day. It is a fun, social game, and you can lose 15 hands in a row and hit 1 big hand and be up. At a $5 table, I usually bet $10 on the 3 card bonus, since it pays on any pair. I have won a lot on that bet.

Thanks for all of the replies. I think my wife and I will definitely give it a try on our upcoming trip.
Good Luck. I was playing at Excalibur my last trip and hit a 4 of a kind for a nice payout.
