Any Trip Planners Out There?

We could use some help here -
Just booked our Christmas trip
Arrive morning of 19th
Depart morning of 31st - done NYE a few times - don't need to do it again - and got a smokin' airfare deal.

Plan so far -
19th - pick up car at 11:00 and drive to Palm Springs - overnight (never been there - don't know what to expect)
20th - drive to long beach - board Quickie Mexico Cruise
21st - Cruise
22nd - Cruise
23rd - Joshua Tree National Park - stay somewhere - don't know where
24th - Drive to Laughlin - Aquarius
25th - Aquarius
26th - Grand Canyon - Aquarius
27th - Aquarius - Arizona sightseeing
28th - Aquarius
29th - Vegas - MSS
30th - Vegas MSS
31st - Outa here!

Sound doable?
Any advice/tips/etc?

Doable - ABSOLUTELY!

While driving around Palm Springs, look for the areas that still have 1960's ranch style architecture - very interesting. You may wish to look at for a room in one of the surrounding communities like Palm Dessert. December weather in the desert is fickle. It can be 65 -70, sunny and perfect or cold and raining. If you were to take the Tram or go exploring in Lake Arrowhead, understand the higher elevations are in a different climate zone.

Allow plenty of time for traffic while driving to Long Beach. Going through LA, you never know.
While in Laughlin - have you done Christmas Tree Pass and the Petroglyphs therein yet?

You mean we have to wait until January 2014 for this Trip Report ???? LOL

Rick

sounds like fun. Just don't plan lots of events every second of the day.... allow lots of time to just do "whatever".
DonDiego notes the 26th and 27th include "Grand Canyon" and "Arizona Sightseeing".

Considerations:
Driving time Laughlin-to-Grand Canyon is over 3 hours.
DonDiego always recommends the traveler spend more time at the Grand Canyon; one should stay for a sunset if one can.
There's not a lot of "Arizona Sightseeing" real close to Laughlin.

Recommendation:
On Grand Canyon Day remain overnight in Arizona, . . . like Flagstaff or Sedona. Flagstaff is a college town with a variety of eateries, and pr'bly rooms, since students should be at home with family. Sedona's more expensive.
Then on Arizona Day tonyrob et al can see, f'rinstance, Sunset Crater Volcano National Park, the Meteor Crater, and especially Sedona's red rocks, . . . before returning to Laughlin.
Could see the London Bridge and Oatman,AZ. Always a treat to feed the mules!
