Anybody else get strange pop-ups on mobile devices at LVA?

Every time I visit on my phone (ios) or android tablet, I get pop-ups asking me if I want to share my location with the Las Vegas Advisor. If I click no, it starts an endless loop showing me the pop-up over and over again unless I click yes. If I click yes, it sends me to a page that tries to get me to download apps to my deceive that have nothing to do with LVA.

Started noticing it about a week or so ago. I assumed it was malware on my device, but when I got the same thing on the Android tablet, I realized that was not the case.
DonDiego's mobile device is a dumb flip-phone.

It has not been affected by the LVA so far as DonDiego knows, . . . yet !
I have just submitted a question to LVA about this.

I don't have a smart phone.

But I noticed when I shopped web sites on my PC(clothing, furniture, etc., no porn), next thing I knew, the site (and the items I looked at and/or ordered) are showing on the banner above the Forums and other pages. Did y'all happen to see my pretty TV stand I ordered from Wayfair?

I have yet to be asked by any of those businesses if I want my shopping displayed on LVA.

The current Harrah's banner is one that had been sent to me on e-mail, which I had opened and viewed. Next day, there was that very banner.

Very strange.

Those are Google Adsense ads you are seeing. You are being shown your shopping history because Google tracks everything you do across the internet. If you have a gmail account, use google search, use the chrome browser, look at funny videos on You Tube, have an android device or use any other google service, google takes the opportunity to build a profile of you. It likely knows your name, your age, where you live, what your sex is, what your sexual preference is, how much money you make, what race you are, health issues you have, what websites you visit, what types of things you search for on the internet and where you do your shopping.

It uses that data to serve ads catered to all of these things it knows about you whenever you visit a website that serves adsense ads such as the Las Vegas Advisor. If you recently bought something from a particular website, it may show you ads from that particular website because they have determined you will likely buy something from that website again. If you do so following one of their ads they will profit from it in some way.

No strange pop-ups here. My pop-ups are perfectly ordinary.

Uh-Oh !

So Google tracks everything, . . .

AND, they presently own Boston Dynamics' intelligent angry robots to enforce, . . . well, . . . whatever Google wants them to enforce:
"Atlas" Line of Humanoids

[Google has just announced they are willing to sell Boston Dynamics; the interested reader could field his own army of mechanical men.]

That is pretty much how LVA staff explained it to me, except they said it was all Google's doing and LVA isn't involved. Hmmm...

Other than placing the AdSense code into the LVA site, they don’t have anything to do with it. Google decides which ad to show you based upon all the information they have collected about you.

This can't be right. I keep getting ads in Korean for Toyotas, adult diaper ads and constipation cures.

Well, . . . two out of three appropriately-targeted isn't so bad.
