Anyone been to Jackpot NV?

I will be taking a trip to Yellowstone Nat'l Park in June and I was thinking about taking an extra day and stopping at Jackpot for a night. I did a little checking on the 'net and I was thinking of staying at Cactus Pete's which is one of two casino/resorts (Barton's 93 is the other one) in Jackpot.

So if anyone has ever stayed at CP's or been to Jackpot, any info or recommendations would be appreciated. Thanx.

Oh. It's kinda neat how most of the streets' names in Jackpot are gaming related terms i.e. 'Dice Rd.', 'Roulette Rd.', 'Slot Dr.', 'Poker St.', 'Aces Rd.' etc...

Oh I have been to Jackpot and like Wendover there's not much there there.
Cactus Pete is the better choice. Small, but very nice, surprisingly nice casino, hotel and restaurants-again much like Wendover.
Barton's is your next best choice. Do NOT go near the couple of other dumps or those grimy no-tell motels that make up the rest of Jackpot.
If you have not been there consider Wendover as another great little spot to spend a night or two. They have one thing Jackpot doesn't-Wendover Wil; which every boy should see once.
Thanx for responding, melbedewy.

I booked myself into Cactus Pete's. I might make a stop at Barton's casino to see what it's like. And yes, I will stay away from the smaller "hole-in-the-wall" casinos in Jackpot. I went into one of those types of casinos once in Las Vegas and a lot of the people in there looked like they had just cashed their welfare checks. I of course did not stay long. Did not feel safe in there.

I have been to West Wendover once. Was there for just around 6 hours one afernoon/evening two years ago. It's a neat little gaming town in the middle of nowhere. I like how the entrances to Montego Bay and Wendover Nugget are practically right on the Nevada state line. Also how the main parking garage at Wendover Nugget is on the Utah side. And yes I did see 'Wendover Will' while I was there. Got a great picture at dusk.
