For those that do not have unlimited use, is it still worth it? I was stil looking at a Nook and Fire myself.
Thanks

Ipads come in 2 configurations: wifi and wifi + 3g

Wifi uses a wireless router. You might already have one in your house if you have a router. If not, they cost about $60 and a few hours of head-banging to get it work securely. Maybe you can get lucky and it will work for you securely easily. If you live in the boondocks, you probably don't need to worry about wireless security so much as the signal goes about 30 yards and you can use it open without security. Starbucks, diners, libraries and other places offer a free wifi connection. If you have a wireless router or use the wifi at a Starbucks or wherever, there is no extra charge for the ipad.

3g is the data plan for a cell phone. It costs money and lets you access the internet from your ipad wherever you can get a 3g signal from a cell phone tower. This is most everywhere in a populated area. This costs money and is slower than wifi. For my use, I don't need this. The ipad will be used at home and if it travels, I won't need to access the internet.
I picked mine up today at the local FedEx office. My early thoughts....

- the camera is much improved. Better still - it didn't break when I took my own picture. I zoomed way up close into my nose. How come nobody told me there's so much hair up there?

- The video resolution is better but not amazingly so. I doubt you'll notice it much when watching a movie. Where you will see a difference is when you surf the web. The little pint-sized pitures (like the ones you see next to a listing on Ebay) are more crisp. Is that worth paying the extra cash over the Ipad-2? Your call. I'm on the fence.

- Direct access to the I-cloud via any wifi connection. Very nice.

All in all - it sure beats lugging around a laptop. I'm looking forward to taking it on vacation next month.

I'm not getting one. I am perfectly happy with the Samsung Galaxy Tab that I got for Christmas. Although, for what I use it for, I suspect I would have been just as happy with a Kindle Fire or Nook Tablet and we would have saved a couple hundred dollars. By the way, my tab is 8.9 inches and it fits nicely in my purse. I take it everywhere. If it were any bigger I'd probably leave it home.
i got the 64g white one with wifi and 4g with the free engraving. What do people engrave? I saw that option and was like WTH am I supposed to put there? I chose to put:

"Owner: Robert Adams
702-349-9175"

In case I loss it the people who keep it will know who paid for it for them. LOL

PS. They sent me an email saying it has been sent but will now be here by March 21st (not March 19th like I was originally told)

Got it on Saturday. It was at my house on Friday but no one was home to sign for it.

So far, my wife is loving it. Had a lot of problems syncing it with iTunes. iTunes kept crashing.
Mine shipped this past Saturday. Guess the shipping dates changed. Suppose to arrive this Friday, it had originally said April 9th. This is my first ipad. I was about to cancel the order last week and get the ipad 2, but my cousin who has the ipad 2 told me since it's going to be my first, I should stick with the 3. So I did.
