Rick, I think you're unaware that yellow mustard is a particular kind of mustard.

Yes, all mustards are yellow in color (more or less), but yellow is a particular kind of mustard, just like honey mustard, deli mustard, and dijon mustard are different kinds of mustard. It's just unfortunate that, for whatever reason, this bland, runny kind is called "yellow mustard".









Seems to me the server was merely being polite in asking you whether the kind of mustard called yellow mustard would meet your needs.

Now that most manufacturers have moved away from glass jars and toward plastic non-transparent containers, there is really no way to know what color mustard is until you buy it, bring it home and open it. If you order mustard on a sandwich at a restaurant or deli you never see it so you really never know its color.

Just a reminder to have your pet peeves spayed and neutered.
