Anyone here flew Spirit?

I flew Spirit to the Bahamas for $9 round trip plus $120 foreign airport fee. So, $129 R/T. No complaints.

I made 6 R/t flights in 2009, (None since), from Fort Lauderdale to Vegas. I managed to use the $20 trick to get a large seat twice ($50 free upgrade), also got comped twice by the supervisor, and the other 9 trips I ended up in the emergency evacuation row. I always arrived at least two hour before my flight to have the opportunity to claim the emergency row, etc.

I do consider myself very adept at social engineering consumer issues, which obviously improved my results significantly. Your mileage may vary.

YES...you can print your boarding pass out at a kiosk at McCarran. I do it every trip and have yet to be charged anything for it. (I go to Vegas twice a year)

Here is a reson not to fly spirit. Somehow nobody was arrested

A brawl erupted at 30,000 feet Wednesday when five female passengers on a Baltimore-to-Los Angeles flight got into it over loud music being blasted on a boom box, authorities said.
The action happened on Spirit Flight 141 when two drunk women were playing tunes loudly on their portable stereo, officials told the LA Times.

When other passengers asked them to lower the volume, the music lovers declined, with one allegedly threatening, “What are you going to do?”
“Then to provoke the other customer, they were holding up their boom box in the air, waving it around,” said Spirit Airlines spokesman Paul Berry.

Three other women approached the boom-box players and all hell broke loose, officials said.

hoops2- I am surprised that Spirit did not charge for the in-flight entertainment....

Didn't want to create clutter by starting a new thread so I'll ask here. Does anyone know if the D Las Vegas still honors a Spirit boarding pass within 24 hours to receive a $50 matchplay? On my flight home from Las Vegas to Los Angeles recently I saw the ad inside the Spirit plane on the overhead bin. In April I'm flying Spirit from Los Angeles to Las Vegas and would be delighted to take advantage of the $50 matchplay. I called the D player's club but no one answered and it went to voice mail and I left a message but I doubt they'll get back to me. BTW Blonde was correct about printing a Spirit boarding pass at McCarran (and there wasn't any fee to do it at the kiosk).

I flew Spirit airlines from Boston to Vegas, direct flights both ways. I noticed many people had backpacks. We paid for carry on luggage. Next time, we will use backpacks and they go on for free as a personal item. I did pay the extra for first class seats on our return flight. It was a red eye and made sleeping so much easier. I would fly with them again. Our flight was about 1/2 the price of what other airlines would have charged us.

It was still happening six months ago...can't testify to what is happening this spring.

Thanks Blonde. Long story short, I can answer my own question. I was able to reach a live person (after leaving another voice message). The promotion lasts until June 2016. Two $25 MP chips are given (as opposed to one $50 MP chip). I will definitely be making a visit there within the first 24 hours upon arrival.
