Anyone on this side doing CET's "The Great Race"

I haven't noticed anything on the free side about Caesar's Great Race. Have any of you been to at least 3 or perhaps made 6 for your $600 comp?

We are planning to visit 4 properties starting on Sept. 12.

We will leave Ohio on Sept 12 and travel to Harrah's Joliet, IL where we will spend a nite. Then on to Harrah's St. Louis, Sept 13 where we will spend a nite as well. Then we will make a stop at Metropolis on our way to Horseshoe IN on the 14th where we plan to spend 4 nites.

We plan to stop at Corvette Central in Sawyer MI before Joliet and also go to the Corvette factory & Museum while in Horseshoe IN.

My sister will be visiting me on the last 2 nites in Joliet as well.

If any of you happen to be at any of these places perhaps we could meet.

So what have any of you done so far?

This is a great promotion.

Have a great time-- I would love to do this if I had the time and it sounds like a BALL!!

Harrahs Saint Louis is where Hubby and I had a blast for the 2 years we lived in Missouri.
If you for ANY reason do not like it, you can go to the Ameristar Casino- about 2-3 miles up the road and check it out as well. It is not a Harrah's property, but I think you only need to get a cerain amount of TIER to qualify.

Safe and fun travels to you!!!!
i planned on starting a similar thread today! for those of you doing it, how has it affected your offers?

i did:

august 5 - harrahs tunica
august 6 - harrahs kansas city
august 8 - harrahs st louis
august 9 - horseshoe indianna
august 12 - atlantic city
august 14 - harrahs in chester, pa

since doing this, my offers have gone really high (for me)

the first one i got was two free nights, $40 reel rewards and (i think) $15 food in st louis. waste of an offer.

then i was checking rates for december in vegas and not only did caesars come up for the first time EVER, it came up for five nights, including a weekend. i can not believe this happened. my jaw was on the ground.

last night, i got a mailer from atlantic city for one free night (hah), two free buffets and the kicker - a $100 reel rewards coupon. i have NEVER gotten a $100 reel rewards coupon. it also says i have a second one coming good for october 11-november 9.

Wow! That's a LOT! But you had luck and won.. when you win, you can play longer and the longer you play, the more comps and offers you get.
Well played.

I did Reno
Tahoe
Chester
Vegas
AC

its weird, even with the winnings/playing longer, i was only in atlantic city for about two hours - mostly playing three line nickel ultimate x.

ill take it though!
Madcat, Yes St Louis sounds pretty good. Our daughter was there a few years ago. It certainly has some decent vp. I looked back at Jon's report last year about the DL there as well. Someone said that they were very receptive to let you know your progress on The Race as well.

We are fortunate that we have the time to wander around, although we have a whole lot to do. Hey, at our age you just gotta go for it.

Jenipher Congrats on your Great Race & the offers that followed! Wow, that is some distance! Did you calculate the miles? How much play did you give these props?

i did a combination of flying and rental car (someone elses rental car, i dont drive), then another flight to a friend chauffering me to indianna, then another flight/bus combo then a bus/train combo. the trip was already planned before the great race promo. the only things i had to add were chester and atlantic city - which were easy since my trip ended with four nights in philly. it just all worked out perfectly.

tunica - i gambled $20 at all three harrahs properties.

kansas city - i put in a $20 and hit 4oak on my first hand. cashed out, put that ticket into a double stp game and got 5's x 5, followed by 5s again sans multiplier, cashed out $400

st louis - i lost about $100 and then hit $300.60 on carnival of mystery. from here, i put $100 into double stp and kept winning and winning and winning. i never lost the $100.

horseshoe - put a $20 into quarter ddb, hit 4's. cashed out $100, put it in a dollar machine, lost it.

atlantic city - allowed myself $100. didnt lose it, kept winning on nickel ultimate x

chester - hated it here. lost $200 in record time and then had to wait over an hour for the bus. two of them never showed.

double post.
judy--

don't forget the corvette museum is in Bowling Green, which I don't believe is too far out of the way to the Horseshoe in So. Indiana....the history is very cool....not super big, but with the plant right next door that can be booked for a tour, it is a good day/time.

I did--Tunica, Cherokee, Metropolis-St. Louis (in one day), and finishing up with Biloxi and New Orleans next Sun Sept 11-13. Can't say I've come out ahead, but whoever said the offers got better is correct at least from my end. Granted it is more from my "home" casino (Cherokee), but still I'd rather it be from there instead of somewhere I gotta spend a boatload just to get to.

Have a great time, and travel safely.

ga I did goof on the Corvette Museum & Factory, so I corrected it. It is around a couple hours. Yes, we have researched the tours.

Wow! you did a lot in a day.

We are kinda exploring maybe doing a different route covering the lower area instead of Joliet. I gotta get back to my routing.

I wish we could have done this at a better time when we could have enjoyed the areas more. We have talked many times about going to Horseshoe IN and onto Nashville and Memphis and some of the other props as well. We have a lot going on, so we just had to squeeze this in. CET needs to give us a little warning on this to plan. They probably don't want us to enjoy other things. We old folks gotta take things a little slower, lol.

Jenaphir,

I wondered how you got around as I thought you didn't drive (all those bus trips in Vegas) I think I remember you posting something about some of this stuff. It was nice that CET put some excitement into your travels.

It looks like you did pretty well except for Chester (that's my dad's name--lost him in 99) It doesn't seem like a place with much to offer. What a bummer with the buses.
