Anyone tried the Buffet of Buffets (or intend to)?

Not a buffet fan. They are unhealthy to eat that much. That being said, I would go to the Sunday brunch at Ballys if I was extended the invitation.

As for the buffets, if everybody in my group was going, I'd probably do it, but I'd bypass the filler stuff including breads, various salads, pastas, etc. and go directly to the seafood and the carving station.

I don't know if I could do a buffet all day long. However paying just one price for a days worth of food sounds good.

Well if you time it right, you can eat for almost a day and half. The pass is good for 24 hrs, buy it at 10 am, go eat a little breakfast, back early afternoon for a light lunch, late afternoon snack, then a regular dinner whenever it strikes you. Have time for a good breakfast if you get there at 9:59.

EDIT TO ADD: Another bonus about this is you can try all the different buffets at the all the properties.

I'd be buying it as early as possible or the night before. I am typically at the table grazing, exactly at 7:30 am.
If this was healthy, I'd stack my plate with both.

Damn that looks good. Give me some good bread and a jar of mayonnaise to go with those two trays and watch out.

Rio's carnival world crab legs, not using the buffet of buffets but used a 2 for 1 coupon (reg price $35).

Those are tiny crab legs where you have to do a lot of work to get slivers of crab out.

I like top end Alaskan King Crab, especially when they have trimmed the shell all the way down. There you get huge bites of incredible crab.
I have not did the buffet thing, but seems would be a good deal if you needed to and timed it right...that being said, I wouldn't go with the "get my money's worth approach", but rather it works out to be a relatively easy way to eat without thinking about it and hunting down deals. Everyone can get what they want or even eat when they want...as opposed to needing to wait for the whole group.

As for buffets in general, I have eaten at a very lot. I prefer picking and tasting as to being served one plated item.

Most I have eaten are free or at least bogo....and then with points.

Main Street Station, free for us...pretty good for lower end one
Orleans...same as above
Sam's Town....only for free and if more convenient than the others...love their steak fries for some stupid reason. Otherwise, nothing is edible.

Fiesta Henderson...this is sadly our fave stations.....and that is because my husband loves their mongolian chef
Sunset, can be hit or miss and barely edible
GVR/Red Rock, more than the others and not really any better
....since stations lowered their prices, worst lines and more and more inedible food...worst deserts ever, I don't even look anymore

Arizona Charlie's boulder...again free and they actually have a sandwich and fry made to order, so this is the only thing I get here. They serve the old fashioned, diner burger, so decent for free.

Paris, would eat for free, not a fan really. Nothing wrong with it, but we'd pick others first.
Planet Hollywood, I like this one for larger variety with a little something different and slightly higher standards...almost always on groupon.
Flamingo, paid with points and was so bad, got a refund without eating, long time ago.

Rio regular buffet, used to be half price locals, now 25% I think....same as PH to me....lots of choices, a little better quality for a moderate price.

Wynn, free promo spin, many years ago...very good, but I wouldn't get my money's worth, I don't eat seafood and not a large eater. Remember great lamb.

Cosmopolitan, horrible hours and line for lunch....food good, divine deserts...higher price, free for me, so...had this srirachi lime watermelon, I loved and good antipasta.

MGM, not really many discounts, free for me, smaller selection, but better quality with what they have.

Palms, many years ago...good, unmemorable.

M, when they first opened, good, then long lines
Silverton, good enough, nothing memorable.

Has anyone tried the Bacchanal at Caesers, I really wanted to, but even with comps was high and mom and I aren't big eaters, so she declined due to price.

Same for Bellagio? Although I don't think they are a leader anymore.

So basically, choices are mediocre for dirt cheap/free or 50 bucks for high end, that are good, but a person who eats lightly/no seafood isn't going to get "their money's worth" as opposed to going to a regular restaurant for cheaper.

Oddly, Harrahs regional buffets seem to be really good for some reason. I like their menu diversity. But they are always overpriced, but most people are comped.
