Anyone Watch Friday's Garth Brooks Live from Las Vegas

I thought this was going to be a live concert, but it was more like a music history and what his influences where. He talked more than he sang (at least the televised portion). He would start a song and they would go to commercial so I believe he did finish the songs.

Garth is also a pretty good stand up comedian.

If anyone has been to his show, is this what it is or is it more of a concert. I really enjoyed it.

I like country, but he talked more about 60s, 70s & 80s pop/rock history than country.
Recorded it. Probably watch it today.
I watched it and loved it and laughed out loud. His show at the Wynn has always been promoted as a "history of Garth" type of thing, not a concert. And he did it very well. His stories brought back memories of music I listened to, especially in the 60's and 70's. Yes, he did shortened versions of the songs, but that allowed him to fit it all into a 2-hour show.

The only thing that could have made the show better for me would have been in Trisha had sung my favorite of her sons -- "The Song Remembers When." It would have fit with the theme of the show.
Enjoyed it alot

I enjoyed it
since I have never seen him live, I would presume that all his jokes and stories are normal but I actually wished he would have stood still and just sang. I thought that he also didn't need to have his wife appear with him and a lot of jokes and banter there also.
Brooks is old news. He has zero popularity any more. Bruno Mars rocks!
We went to the show at Wynn. I missed the TV version but it sounds like what you are describing, without the commercials of course. It was a marvelous show live, just Garth and his guitar, two uninterrupted hours of it. I really hoped Trisha would be there bur she wasn't. Like the TV version, it was Garth's anthology of music, from "Haggard...and Jones", whom his dad worshiped, onward including pop/rock music. He talked a lot and sang only portions of songs. I think the only song he sang all the way through was at the very end when he had us all stand up and join him in singing "Friends In Low Places." That was actually a very fun and memorable moment.

One of our local radio DJs had seen a preview of the TV version. He said in his opinion it was "just advertising to get people to buy the DVD." Glad to hear it was more entertaining than that.
Who is Bruno Mars??

Honestly can't tell if you are joking or serious, but when Garth and Trisha go on their tour next year (they're waiting for his youngest daughter to graduate high school), I guarantee it will be one of the biggest in history. They'll sell out every arena, every seat, every night, in mere seconds.

Doesn't sound like zero popularity to me.

But I do like Bruno Mars too...

I saw the TV show and thought that Garth is a pretty multi-talented entertainer.

I just wish that he would stop that constant fast walking back and forth, like he has to go, ...... ya know.
