Apocalypse according to ISIS

This is the first time I've heard about this, not quite the way I've ever understood it. I thought Jesus was supposed to be on the Christian side? Obviously I'm not anything close to a theologian.

"..In ISIS’ interpretation, the figure of the Mahdi, or “the rightly guided one” will appear to lead final battles against the Western infidels, called Rome, in northern Syria before the end of days. After the day of judgment, only those who supported the Mahdi will be saved. The Mahdi will appear after the establishment of an Islamic caliphate. (Medieval caliphs, attempting to gin up support for their own battles against the Christian crusaders, claimed to be the Mahdi in the past.) In some of the prophecies, Jesus descends from the heavens to assist the Mahdi in his battle against the infidels, who are led by an Antichrist figure.."

If I recollect correctly from my comparative region classes, Muslims consider Jesus a prophet. Muhammad came after Jesus and was the last or final prophet. Islam isn't really that different from Christianity for the most part all of the same characters are present.
"Islam isn't really that different from Christianity for the most part all of the same characters are present."

That is true, until a Muslim decided that you don't have the right to live. Just a tiny difference.

To be fair, I think some Christians have decided the same thing over the years.

I'm certain that Malibber is correct. However, for every 1 person killing for Jesus, there is 200 Muslims killing for Allahu.

Well, . . . cool.

What's the schedule, . . .
___establish an Islamic Caliphate, . . . check
___the Mahdi appears, . . . maybe already, but pr'bly soon
___The Antichrist arises to lead the infidels, . . . maybe already; the reader can pr'bly guess who
___the Mahdi leads the final battles against the Western infidels in northern Syria before the end of days, . . . looking' closer every day
___Jesus descends to assist the Mahdi, . . . w-a-a-a-y cool
___After the day of judgment, only those who supported the Mahdi will be saved, . . . umm, not so cool. but DonDiego wasn't expecting to be saved anyway

DonDiego is an old man. He would really like to know how things turn out, . . . i.e. how the world ends, . . . or at least how civilization ends. And it's looking like maybe he'll have a good seat what with television and the internets and such.

DonDiego suggests everyone obtain a good supply of liquor and popcorn and watch the show. DonDiego hopes he can recognize the Mahdi, for certain, . . . so's he can choose the side that'll save him, . . . oh, and he really hopes Jesus will remember little DonDiego from Sunday School.
I hope none of our resident Christians mowed the lawn last Sunday. Because the book of your religious doctrine says you should suffer some serious shit if you did.

Exodus 35:2
"You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but the seventh day must be a Sabbath day of complete rest, a holy day dedicated to the LORD. Anyone who works on that day must be put to death."

I think I went grocery shopping. Does that count as work?

That's so old testament only the new testament matters.....

PJ, if the old testament was the only one, most of us would be dead, yourself included. As well as the Muslim world.

Not according to the Jews.

Many Christian sects consider Jesus to be quite a profit as well.

Thank you, I'll be here all week...
