Hmm, . . . Karma.

Mrs. Robin here in Appalachia sat on her nest all of last night and today. Mr. Robin visited occasionally.

It's very interesting with Cardinals. They seem to be a very tight knit family. I always see the male and female together and usually the juveniles aren't far behind.

There's lots of cardinals 'round here, . . . adults, juveniles, and even fledglings.

Two years ago a pair of cardinals nested in the same hedge, and DonDiego was lucky enough to see the fledglings fall to the ground, padded with wood-chips, leaves and other plant debris. He assumes they were pushed from the nest, . . . just because that's what he wants to assume. He also assumes they are among the young adults at his feeders now, . . . for the same reason.

When courting the male will share seeds with his chosen female, . .. or maybe any female. How the heck would DonDiego know? They all look alike.
And besides, as DonDiego's Grandfather used to say: "Women are like street cars, . . . if you miss one there'll be another along in 10 minutes."

[Photo off the web somewhere, 'cause it's better than DonDiego's.]
