Archimedes and his "soapbox"

Jackson in an Inependent Command was brilliant in his Valley Campaign.
His performance as a Corps Commander during the Seven Day Battle was almost bizarre. Once again give an Independent Command, he marched circles around John Pope and routed the much bigger Federal Army at Second Bull Run.
As a Corp Commander at Fredicksburg and Sharpsburg, he was outstanding. At Chancorsville, he was brilliant .
Keep in mind that General Lee never won another major battle once he lost Jackson. Lee's strategy to invade the North, place his army between Washington and the Federal Army, choose the time and place of battle and destroy the Union forces was brilliant. His tactic of attacking a dug in Federal force of unknown strength at Gettysburg was not. Had Jackson been at Gettysburg, the odds of a Union victory would have been greatly diminished.
As far as the Seven Day War, Seven Day Battle goes, I only bring it up because if pokerwayne or Arc had made such a mistake, you'd havepounced all over it.
The importance of Lee's error at Gettysburg cannot be overstated. He failed to understand that he had lost his advantage.

Well I'm glad the traitors lost.

Is it safe for us New Yorkers to still visit Miami in the winter? Will we get safe passage?

What "traitors"? Were Washington, Jefferson, Franklin and Paine traitors?
The real A hole was Lincoln who saw half a million dead (when we only had what 40 million people?) just so he could keep people in his government that didn't want to be there. It would be like when the Slovaks wanted to break from the Czechs the Czechs starting a civil war that killed 200,000 instead of waving goodbye like they did.
melbedewey, you are soooo right. Someone should call the Queen and tell her to come on over and take back everthing. Damn we were baaad people and I hope she forgives us.

To the British Crown? Obviously!

Actually, the traitors WON the American Civil War. It was simply the second act of the revolution against the European Imperialists. North America became fully independent, developed its economic and military might, and went on to achieve worldwide hegemony, subsequent to the Great Imperialist War of 1914 - 1918.

Lincoln was a zealot and a fascist, but behind every "great" man are 1 million little men who share the ideology.
