Are drawn cards in video poker already pre determined?

One example of machines doing a continious shuffle is a glitch that has appeared on some machines. On some games like DB DDB poker that pay extra with a kicker, if the player is delt four of a kind that will not benefit with a kicker and instead of holding all the cards they hold just the 4 the machine would draw a duplicate card so the player would have five of a kind...problem is the game does not have wild cards so the machine, not being able to find an award for five of a kind locks up with a malfunction error. Sad part aabout it is the player is given back their original bet and do not get paid the four of a kind.

Huh? Since there is no such thing as five of a kind in DB or DDB, any "glitch" that could deal 5oak could do so under both continuous shuffle or 10 cards dealt.

Now can we discuss the advantage of "screen rubbing"?

Dammit. I thought all of us screen rubbers had agreed we wouldn't go public with this secret.

Just about all machines today are continuous shuffle. Machines more than 10 years old (before the game king series) had the top 10 cards fixed at initial deal with replacement cards taken in sequence (called sequential method). Machines over 20 years old used the shadow method (also called parallel method).

Note, this pertains to IGT machines which are about 90% of all VP machines. Not much is known about other machines, however, I've heard they all now use continuous shuffle.
clcjim,
I am very sorry. I have no excuse as I was at the meeting.
Is it better to rub clockwise or counter clockwise?

It's not so much the direction as it is the rhythm and intensity.
Arc, if your info about age is correct, then I am going to suggest that a lot of machines in use at Ballys use the sequential method. This is because as older machines are moved out of Caesars they go to Bally's. (Yes, this makes no difference in how we play, I just mention it as a point of information and discussion.)
