are you getting a tax refund?

I guess that puts me in the other 46% because I have to pay the Feds $1600 this year.
Hell no. Those blood suckers want another thousand dollars of my hard earned money so that they can piss it away on another stupid program. I'm working a full and part-time job, about 55 hours a week, and my Govenor says that I'm not paying my fair share....bullshit. I'm paying more in federal and state taxes than I GROSSED 25 years ago. Why do we keep electing these incompetent idiots...I'm talking about BOTH Dems and Reps. For the record, I am not an executive, I receive no bonuses, I work for an hourly wage. Do I sound bitter? You bet your ass I do. What I really feel sorry about is the mess that my kids are going to have to deal with in the not too distant future.

Glasses can affect your vision; especially when they have been emptied several times......
Well Federal was here today and went poof real quick. Took $250.00 of it and went to the local casino (Hollywood) in Indiana. I still owe the state about $210.00.

Got it a few weeks ago. About $1500 from the Feds and $300 from the state. I thought I might get a partial refund on what I paid in social Security as I split the year between two jobs, but evidently not.
I actually used it to buy some old US currency- A 1899 Black Silver Certicate dollar bill and a 1917
Washington dollar.
Anyone noticed the withholding tables are hifger this year, even though taxes are not?

damn billryan, didnt know you are a currency collector. I have a 25-cent note pre civil war and three uncut sheets of $5 bills with the old small portrait. I have no idea what any of it is worth.
Ughh...taxes.
No hope of getting a refund (self employed) but since I overpaid in 2009, I should at least owe less than previous years.
My sick mind is rationalizing the excess amount I would normally owe as "fun money" which should, of course, be spent on my next trip to Vegas.
Hey, at least I'll be sure to fun with it! Writing a check to the IRS is no fun at all and extra-grating when I see how they waste it. Don't get me started on THAT subject.

Withholding is higher this year because the making work pay credit lowered withholding 2 years ago. The making work pay credit has ended so the withholdings are adjusted. However the SS withholding has been lowered to 4.2% down from 6.2%. That's right, a bankrupt program will recieve less funding further ensuring that I will see none of my money that was assured me when I retire.

I'm more of a dabbler. I have a tremendous comic book collection, a decent coin collection and a couple of dozen pieces of currency. I like the old big notes. My next " to buy" item is the Indian/Buffalo $5 bill, and a Martha Washington dollar bill.
There are far fewer examples of paper currency out there than coins.
As far as values go, I just go to eBay and see what comparable items sell for.

billryan, you may not have heard of the Society of Paper Money Collectors, but I was a "charter member" when it was formed in 1965. I joined it through Coin World newspaper. Unfortunately, my charter membership was revoked when I attended the first meeting and they discovered I was just a "kid" and under 18 years of age. LOL. I was 13. I love the old National Notes and the National Note that I want is one that says Las Vegas. Got one?
No, I've been looking to buy a few National Notes but end up getting sniped each auction. I've seen some Carson City ones, but no Vegas ones.
