AT&T Stadium/Jerry's World

They announced at the ACM awards last night that next year's show will be at "Jerry World". Don't they know the acoustics for a concert stink in that stadium? I only saw one there and will never go to see another it was so bad.

Along the lines of the concert rodeo I went to at AT&T or Cowboys stadium, I can't believe they're having the NCAA finals there.

Good marketing I guess. Our seats were on the top row as you walk in from street level, which put us half way up since the bowl is dug down several stories. The giant TV screen was directly in front of us and we watched the rodeo and ensuing concert on the screen since the "action" was too small to see.

A friend of mine went to a pre-season Cowboy's game with seats that cost $200 face value each and he said the same thing, he watched the game on the big screen.

I have gone to several games with regular ticket, company tickets and vendor boxes at the old Cowboys stadium and at least you could see the game from your seats.

I can't believe people are paying good money to sit and watch basketball on a big screen with about 100,000 other fans. But I guess it's the party they're here for.

Oh and the parking is about $50 for football games and Arlington is the largest city in the US without public transportation.

Apparently Jerry is a marketing and profit sharing genius.

Sorry I'm done with my rant!

I will say the tour of the stadium is interesting and I'm a Giants fan. It's especially interesting going into the enclave that Jerry watches the Cowboys games from. It's like a bullet proof two room suite on the 50 yard line, the only suite on his level with a private elevator so he doesn't need to mingle with the fans.
It's not about the music or the audience who for some reason pay good money to sit in the rafters and watch the show on the screen hanging over the floor. They're making a TV show, for an audience at home, not for people in the PepsiDome or whatever they call it.

Think about the movie Avatar. Think it was exciting to sit around on set and watch that get made? Unlikely. Because they were making a movie, meant to be seen in a movie theater.

Same deal here. Watch it at home, that's what they're efforts are all directed at.
Build it and they will come.

So I guess what you're saying is that there are enough people being duped into paying exorbitant prices to watch a live concert on a video screen at the venue it makes it okay.

My bitch is that over 90% of the attendants will be watching it on a video screen instead of watching it live even though the ticket prices are for a live show.

I guess people are just stupid until after the first time, and I'm just trying to be informative since I have seen inquiries about the ACM in Vegas on this board lately.

I live in Texas and have interacted with enough true country music fans to know, most of them are trusting and are easily taken advantage of. I watched a 22 year old winner of one of the rodeo events 6 years ago loose his entire purse at the $5 BJ table at the Frontier with the pit boss encouraging him to quit and got to his room.

From the ACM show in Vegas I thought the audiences were close enough (2 venues) to actually see the performers on stage if they wanted to without watching the video screens (which I think appeared at concerts in the early 80s).

Well, Crazy Uncle Jerry needs to hold NCAA championships and Super Bowls there, because its the only way postseason games will be played at that venue because with him running the Cowboys they wont be seeing the playoffs and he knows it.

The 2015 college football championship will be held there also.
