Atlantis Hotel/Casino in the Bahamas

I'm taking a cruise this May that will stop over in Nassau. I've signed up for a excursion tour that ends at the Atlantis casino and hotel. At this stop you have 30 minutes to look around. If you choose to do so, you can leave later and take a taxi back to the ship. You just have to make sure you are back on board by a certain time.

Has anybody been to this casino?

Yes. It's huge. Thirty minutes will get you nowhere. Thing is I'm not sure how much is open to the public. Much is guest only.
I'd guess a taxi to the cruise ships would be $25 ,at most. Maybe much less. The last time I did it, it was the Paradise Island Casino and cost $4. I remember because it was my last $4. That was 79, so I'm adjusting for inflation. Flown in the two times I've stayed at Atlantis.
I was there about 8 years ago on a cruise ship stop. I agree that many parts were not open to the public. If you want to go to the pool area, you need a special cruise ship excursion and there were a fixed number each day. Everything was crazy expensive, I think the cheapest blackjack table during the day may have been $50 and the drinks were in the $20 range. There were also yachts docked near the casino that has their own helocopters. Definitely, a high rent neighborhood. It's no Ellis Island!

The ship line is quoting around $5 for a taxi.

Like I said, it was a long time ago so I adjusted for possible inflation. It's about a ten-fifteen minute ride, as I recall.
Jittneys are a dollar. You can catch one at the employee parking lot, it runs off the island and down past the cruise terminal.

It's been about 8 or 9 years since I have been there but the above post' sound the same as when I was last there.

They had a craps table out by the pool.
We took the water taxi from Atlantis over to the cruise ship area. It was fun. Some local "tour guide" would be on board and tell us "facts and history" about the island. These facts and history would change depending on the tour guide. But other was entertaining none the less.

Might that be per person in a shared cab? I've no idea but learned not to trust information from cruise lines.

Here is part of the description of the tour:

...Before long, you will cross the bridge over the harbor to Paradise Island, which was once called Hog Island. Now, it’s known for beautiful beaches and numerous resorts such as Atlantis where you will stop for a visit. Atlantis is a magnificent resort encompassing over 3,000 hotel rooms, 20 restaurants, a wide variety of stores, a 123-acre water park, beautiful beaches and the largest casino in the Bahamas.

After approximately 30-minutes, your bus will head back to the cruise ship pier; however, for those who wish to spend more time at Atlantis, a variety of options are available for purchase at the resort. Guests wishing to end their tour at Atlantis will need to arrange a taxi back to the cruise ship pier at their own expense. There are many taxis available at the resort and the approximate cost of the ride to the cruise ship pier is $5.00 per person. It is up to the guest to make sure they are back to the ship before sailing time. The Discover Atlantis Beach and Aquaventure Passes may be purchased directly at Atlantis and are subject to availability.
Per person and they probably assume 4 people or 5 people in the cab so $20-$25.
