Auction for TV advertising

I'm into trying new things and got the idea to offer on eBay a one-minute spot on my Best Buys TV Show. The auction for the one minute commercial announcement has started here: https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=151232071520

I don't think this has ever been done before -- putting TV Infomercial time and production up for auction on eBay. Let's see how the bidding goes.

If you have a business and want to reach consumers in Southern California you can try this. This includes those of you who might be connected with a Las Vegas hotel, resort or casino.

Good luck, Alan Mendelson
Contact Bags. He knows a woman in SoCal who may need to advertise her business.
I just bid 6 cents and I'm now leading the pack. I think I'm going to win this puppy. Maybe we can do like a parody America's Most Wanted Commercial and have it about MoneyLA's BFF, Rob Singer. That would be well worth my 6 cents.
HEY. Who TF just bid 11 cents? I warn you, my budget for this project is virtually unlimited (as long as it stays under a dollar). I think I'll just wait until 5 seconds before the auction closes and swoop in with my 99 cent crusher.

As someone who works in the Television business.... careful about uposetting your current advertisers who are paying the bills every month. You do not want to start undercutting their rates and make them unhappy.

Sorry, Alan.....

Bid is now at $5.50

Don't think there is much +EV in that auction anymore.

I think it's a good idea to try it. What it would be good for would be start up businesses that don't have a lot of money to blow on advertising. Good luck to you and the winner of the auction. I hope it turns out well. Be sure to let us know how it turns out.

Man $5.50 is getting pretty steep. Now if we could just go with the classic 1 minute porn video, it might work...but no. 'no political or adult advertising content will be accepted'. Apparently they have standards.

Ok...I've got a new one...A one minute close up of a dripping nose. Yeah...that's it..I'll title it: "Win One For The Dripper". Do they give Emmys for 1 minute spots?
There is other "stuff" that will also not be acceptable, so because of the terms and conditions, I decided NOT to compete with you for that one minute of TV fame and glory. Figure you deserve to win that auction without the excessive competition from a forum friend.

You should sell your Lucky Hats, Tangerines, or the deluxe combination package of Lucky Hats and tangerines.

BTW: Does anyone else, besides me, think the original announcement by MoneyLA was SPAM?

Well now that is a good question. But the issue of SPAM aside, I question MoneyLA thinking the LVA Free For All is a good place to advertise his E-Bay auction for advertising. If MoneyLA's advertising really works he should simply produce a 1 minute spot advertising his E-Bay Auction. He can even use my new Dripping Nose concept if he wants a real winner.
