Augustus Cafe RIP, Welcome Michel Central 24/7

Long overdue, IMO, the Augustus Cafe at Caesar's Palace will be replaced this summer by Wash DC celebrity chef Michel Richard's Central 24/7, which will serve up his stuff er 24/7, and have an outdoor patio.

Hope they improve the view while they're at it, since right now, looking at fences and Serendipity and the Bellagio bridge may not be very moving alongside Michel's morsels.
I liked Augustus cafe just fine. But an outdoor patio would be nice. What would you have them do to improve the view for you? Knock down the pedestrian bridge to the Bellagio?
Plant trees around the patio area to hide it! Create a more pleasing oasis surrounding the patio.

I've always found service at Augustus to be abysmally slow. Never a waiter when you need them, especially when you're done and want the check. And this in the Diamond/7 Stars "reserved" area. That has been my main source of chagrin.
We like Augustus Cafe a lot.
Never had remarkably slow service, usually pretty fast.
Try the Artichoke Spinach Dip...best ever...devine (and big) garlic toast "points".
Listed in the appes, but it is a meal.

Never did eat at Augustus Cafe. When staying at Caesars in the Augustus Tower and faced with a choice of Payard or the Cafe, I chose Payard each time.
We always enjoyed Augustus Cafe, and I hope the hostesses stay on since they were always pleasant. Yes, waiters were slow but on the other hand they didnt rush you out either. I was never impressed with the menu or the quality of the food in Augustus -- oh it was good -- but could have been better. So I look forward to a new menu.

I dont know this new restaurant. Can someone comment on menu, etc? And will this Augustus-replacement still be the casual place you could go to at 3-am for an omelette or burger?

When did Cafe Lago close?
Cafe Lago is now the buffet. No longer the 24 restaurant that it was.

Thats good I misunderstood slapinfunk I thought he was saying the buffet had closed. My wife would have been upset she likes to eat there when she is in the mood for a buffet.
