But, again, common sense has to have a vote, and movie theaters shouldn't be held to a standard that expects a mass shooting. Nobody needs to feel sorry for the guy and those like him. When we legally excuse commission of those types of acts, we ask for more, and we ask to be fearful of going anywhere, any venue.
The judge gave them warning. I wonder if their attorney(s) urged them to not accept the settlement? It brings on more pain for them, but I think the theater didn't do anything wrong.
Agree with the verdict, but why would it cost $700K to defend such a case? How much were the plaintiffs seeking?

Also think the victims were previously screwed over in the restitution settlement. Holmes was ordered to pay over $950K, but only about $100K was to go directly to his victims. The rest was to go to some general victims' relief fund.
